have you tried launching at lower pressure, lower RPMs, and clutch out faster?
Even though I was disappointed with my et's last night at the track, it gave me a kick in inspiration to move forward. Also I did make it into the 14 second club which was the next achievement to be unlocked, so fück yeah!
I've been busy as hell today to pick up the pieces and find out what went wrong, right and where to go from here.
My first quest was to find out why I spent so much money and poor MPG on E85 when someone with a budget tune on 93 pump gas could still be nipping at my heels by LESS THAN 1/2 a second!!
(on a side note: My hat's off to Tmo. Many including myself poked and laughed at him about all his budget mods, but he proved that you can race with heart instead of wallet and still prevail. And dude's got heart. 15.40 with budget Tune in a Sedan)
So I held quite a dialog with Trifecta's very own Vince today. He basically explained how, and I now have learned to accept that, in order to see the E85 tune's potential, one must first upgrade their clutch. I quote: stock clutch is good for approx. 200 ft/lbs torque.
He then took my Dyno data, AFR data, and a data-log and sent me back an update, saying he adjusted several areas that needed improvement. I loaded the update and Presto!!
This thing pulls like a raped ape (sorry for the expression) after 4k. Also I'm right at the capacity limit of the stock clutch. I can detect a hint of slippage intermittently. On top of this, I logged the new update and Vince says he can still get a bunch more power out of it, but only after I upgrade the clutch.
So there you have it. The man knows his stuff. Through the wires of the interwebs he has effectively tuned my car to the edge of what the clutch can handle. BAD-AZZ
So as you can guess, I'm shopping for a clutch with the urgency of a crackhead shopping for their next rock. I believe I'll be going with a CM rigid stage 4 and CM 11 lbs Aluminum flywheel.
Stay tuned
I guess that means no bolt ons for the wife then?
