Introducing the BOOOMMM!
Finally got my customized plates and got them installed. I know I'm probably not the only Sonic with BOOM on the plates, but maybe the only one with this spelling. All the other spellings were already taken, but now that I got it I kind of like it. I decided to put the Sonic frame on the front also to try to help people understand the Sonic Boom reference. Funny thing is that some people seem to really like the plate regardless of the fact that it's on a Sonic. they just like that it says boom. I caught some guy taking pictures of my car and license plate in a store parking lot recently. I've also gotten thumbs-up type gestures in traffic.
I put the Sonic frame on the rear also because I wanted a little extra chrome and I wanted to tie the Sonic and Boom together.
It was a little tricky to get the frame to go nicely on the front because the license plate holder has ridges along the left and right edges and the frame is wider than the space between the ridges. I ended up using some stainless steel washers behind the license plate to move it away from the bracket. I attached self-adhesive black rubber weather stripping to the back of the plate along all four edges to fill in the gap and to keep the plate from rattling at the bottom. I think it ended looking pretty good:

Here's the weather stripping I used:
I think I ended up with something like 4 washers on each side:
