Just an FYI, some of the older mylink radios have a glitch in the softwear and when the dealer tries to flash it, the radio locks up and becomes a brick. Than your car sits at the dealer for a day or 2 while they replace your radio...ask me how I know.

I used BringGo and routed a trip. It was about a 75-mile route. At about mile 45, the app (on the iPhone) crashed. I rebooted the iPhone app back up, but couldn't re-enter my route because the vehicle was in motion. I wasn't about to pull over on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to enter a route.

Yes, it has voice turn by turn directions. I have the voice volume set to 100%, but the volume is way too low- barely audible. If you have a window down, forget it.

Being that the app crashed during a route, I'm deeming this a failure and not reliable. I'll try it again during my 30 day free trial period. The low voice volume would be a deal-breaker for me. Who knows, this is only version 1.0: there may be an app update soon.

If you unplug your phone from the car it won't know you're driving. Unplug, re-enter route, plug in phone. It works as a gps navigation device even without your vehicle attached to it.

I made a route on my iPhone when I was at work and didn't plug in the phone in my car for about 3 more hours. When I finally did, I opened the app on the car and it asked if I wanted to resume a previous route I made. I selected yes and went on my way.

What version iOS are you running on your phone? Did you have it tethered to the USB the entire time?

Chock another one up to bad mylink hardware. Waiting at the dealership now, approaching 2 hours and they service guy just told me the radio is locked up and won't work at all.

Looks like I'll be getting a loaner!

All this tells me that if I decide to try the MyLink upgrade I would be smart to wait until replacement radios are in stock so when the radio is bricked I won't have a several day wait. On the other hand, if I time it right, go in after Easter, get a loaner when the MyLink radio bricks, I could use the loaner for my annual trip to New Orleans!

Well my loaner is a 2006 Pontiac G6, basically same engine as the cavalier I came from so def a step down.

I emailed bringo, they told me they would be updating the list of compatible phones at some time, until then no HTC phone should work. Very stupid on their part

Have you considered that the issue might be with the HTC phone, and not the app? My guess is the HTC is running some old operating system that won't accommodate the latest technology running in the apps. Send your note to HTC and find out why your phone isn't compatible.

HTC phones have been made since the begining of android they have all operating systems on them and they are almost always the best phones on the market.

Bringgo also does not support the new Samsung phones the nexus line.... The company has really made a big mistake not supporting many phones, but them not supporting any HTC phone is very stupid. They hold a large segment of the market share.

I am running Bringo on an HTC phone. My wifes also. I did have a bug that the screen was staying on but it went away. Works great. Look back a few posts for the method to install...

Just spoke with my local chevy dealer service department, who claimed to know nothing about this and told me that the PI mentioned earlier in the thread was only applicable to my car if I had a specific problem with my bluetooth. He declined to schedule me for the update. Any advice?

Point them to the official website I linked and have them read the following paragraph:

Here's my story on the BringGo App:

I downloaded the app from iTunes when it came out. As alot of people said for the first 2 or 3 days, I couldn't create an account or download any maps. Then it started working. After downloading a couple of maps, I then started playing with it. I also had it crash when I tried to put in either my home address or office address.

I bought my 2013 Sonic the first part of September so I did not have the App installed on the MyLink. This past Monday I had an appointment with the Dealer to get my Oil Changed, a recall fixed and to have them update the MyLink. After waiting for about 1 1/2 hours, they came and said all was complete. I asked them if they updated the MyLink and they had no clue on what I was talking about. So the Service Rep took me back to talk to the Tech. I explained what it was and that I even talked to the GM Informant team and they said the dealership had to do this. So he said he would search some database. About 10 minutes later the Service Rep told me that he found it and would update it. Just over an hour later it was done.

So now I hooked it up. Pretty cool. Also I found that you can set the Address for your Home and Office via the screen in the Sonic and it works fine.

Now here comes the really bad part. I decided to purchase the Premuim Service. However I keep getting an error message saying: Connection to Apple Server failed. Please try again later. I emailed BringGo and they said that they were talking to Apple about this and Apple told them to have the customer contact iTunes support. I contacted iTunes support and they say that it is BringGo's issue. So I am now going back and forth between BringGo Support and iTunes Support and still can not buy it...........

Anyone else been able to purchase the In App premuim service?

Nope but there is a 30 day trial so I figure they will turn that functionality on towards the end of March.

I just got back from the dealer after trying to get the update to my link for bring only to find out that it has not been released yet. The guy at my dealer who does the updating called some contact he has regarding the new technology. He is supposed to notify me when it is available.

I had mine updated this past Monday. They had to search something and the guy saw that it mentioned the BringGo update and the new TuneIn update. It took them just over an hour to apply the update. But the dealership should have it now.

Good for you. I can only go by what my dealer tells me. I can tell you that the app was released prematurely, so I would worry about your update being the latest and greatest.
