3d carbon fit and finish?

Im going to include the Estimate Sheet i got from the Shop which is what i ended up paying once it was done. I thought it was a fair price to which is why i let them do it. Plus they are known for high quality work and if anything were to come about that needed corrected they are very good at backing up their work and correcting things if needed.

As for Visibility, i will explain for now, but will get you a picture of how it looks in the car later... Its a slight blocking but nothing major. Mainly blocks the area where the third brake light is at. When brakes are pressed the light shines on the spoiler and likely not seen (I say likely as im never behind the car to tell since im always driving it lol)... Like i said, i will take a few photos of how it looks in the car looking out so you can see what i mean. but as for does it block your view out the rear to see behind you, no it doesnt. Nothing like the rear headrests did thats for sure.

No offense but you got hosed by that body shop. A gm factory spoiler pay .7 tenths to install so 1.5 was just a rip off. The paint time is a book time and that estimate appears to be wrote on the same program our gm body shop uses so there's no getting around that. But 2.5 hours to install a stripe kit! That's an hour and a half jobat most..and I'm a tech telling u this. You could have got that done for over a hundred bucks cheaper with the same quality if you shopped around a bit..

I may have, but the quailty of work they do is phenominal and they guarentee there work for the life of it. and i havent had any problems with either part since they have been installed. Where i live there isnt many options to get custom work done. So you end up paying a little higher for things to get done. just like right now im having hell trying to get a custom exhaust system built for my car as no exhaust shop in town will touch it because its not a direct fit prebuilt system made for the car. Oh no they might have to do a little work, not that. point being i thought it was a fair price. it was over a year ago, so no sense even talking about it now.

Please, you don't chisel a body shop. You go top notch. One in my area is easily 2X more. However, the pump out show cars. I used them for some work on my Caprice. The paint matching and attention was so good I didn't mind paying more.

They squeezed my work in while doing an E-type and first gen f body.

I work at a gm dealer and our work is top notch. Our paint (ppg water born...used on many cars at the factory) has excellent color match and we also guarantee our work for however long you own the vehicle. I understand what the op is saying about finding a quality shop as well since its hard to know which shops do and don't do quality work until you do business with them. I was just saying that in my area there is a lot of choices in body shops therefore we have to keep our rates low to earn customers and insurance work as well. Its also equally important our quality be top notch or we could easily loose our customer base because of all the competition also providing high quality work.

I know i paid a little more to get the work done and i went to that particular shop for a reason as they do excellent work and stand by there work. any issues, they correct it immediately. I fully understand your thoughts and opinions and respect them. I know what your saying and agree that normally yes, someone would say i might have got overcharged. but on this particular project the price was on point for the work needing done. It was top notch quality and i havent had any problems with paint chipping or fading and the stripes have stayed without any peeling problems too.

Keep in mind i had all this done when i had the car in for the rear end damage repair also. so everything was done at one time. But finding a good quality body shop that also stands by there work is hard to come by these days. so im happy to have one in my area. Thanks for the concern but i was perfectly happy with that quote i got.

Now, on a different project, i asked for a quote and they were WAY overboard with the quote and i walked away and looked elsewhere. Some things you just have to keep in mind the quality of work and service vs price. sometimes the quality will surpass the price even if its a little high. As i was told, sometimes you have to pay a little more to get a higher quality return from it. Im happy so thats all that matters.... Now lets give this thread back to the guy that started it please.

I am new to the small car world i always drove trucks and suvs so now that im driving 25000 a year i bought a sonic. I love the car i really thought i'd hate it. Anyhow i'm looking at the 3d carbon body kit has anyone installed it and how is the quality. I helped install a duraflex kit a few years back and it sucked.

I have their kit on my ride & must say of all the different companies I have used since 06 on a Fearone Design custom builds for SEMA, 3DCarbon by far the best out there on fit,finished,installed. One of the main reasons I won SEMA top award for GM at 2012 SEMA show for "Best Small Car" was their product along with Pedders coil-overs. Hope this helps and best of luck with your Sonic.
