That must have taken a lot of speed to bend that lower control arm to make contact with the wheel like that. Smash it back inline with a sledge and you can probably get it driving again.
You gotta remember the newer cars are designed to bend to absorb force.

So it needs to be strong enough to work but also be able to bend with a impact.
