Good news and bad news.
The good news is that its just a result of a loose connection of the hard piping on the slave. It never crossed my mind to check that it was tight, before installing it, as it WAS brand new! But now that I think about it, it was a little loose and I just checked my original one and it is tight as hell.
The bad news is that I will have to pull the trans a 3rd time to get in there and tighten up the hard line. The lift is backed up, so it'll have to wait to the morning.
But I'm relieved that it is essentially a simple fix........ aside from having to pull the trans to do it.
I'll post a pic in a couple minutes.

At this point pulling the trans is easy for you. I was more worried you stumbled on a chronic issue.

I was terrified that it was a clearance dimension issue with the new parts, causing the slave to overextend. If it was I was ready to put the stocker back in and recede into high 14-sec defeat. I was so close to losing my cool.
But if it's just a faulty connection on the slave hydraulics, at least it's within my capacity to make right. Sure it sucks to have to pull the trans again, but that feeling will pass once things are right again.

Ha. Trans out and back in, buttoned up in...........

It turns out the slave was defective, not a loose connection.
Now the engagement is much less harsh. Much more reasonable.
Sooo much better.

I'm still nervous that it was an overextension issue, but I ended up putting my original slave back in, which we know has been good for 12k.
Also the fact that the pedal feels much more normal now, leads me to believe that that bad slave was defective from the get go.
At what point can I feel that I can stop worrying that this slave will blow?
Is it possible that I got the one defective slave that slipped passed QC and that my stock one should be fine?

I'd tell CM to send you a replacement anyway since the one they sent was obviously defective, keep it on hand JIC.
