It was overwhelming and I'm getting checked out and if I have to ill sue. I'm not gonna be ****ed on this. His insurance company said that because he was hit in the driver side door rear that he "owned the intersection" even though he blew through a red light. So they most likely wont deem 100% liability to him. Idk if I should go through mine and go after them for the deductible or if I should stick w going through his company. The police report isn't out yet obv on order to determine liability. Idk why route to go.

Well I was coming up to the intersection I had a green saw him(he had a red) he just kept going so I slammed on my brakes but hit his driver rear tire/door area(coupe civic)

The same thing almost happened to me a few months back.
The only difference was that I kept accelerating. The driver missed me by about an inch. 0_o

With all the accidents and incidents that have been happening lately, it's as if everyone was out to kill us Sonic owners. 0_0 lol

If you haven't already; make sure your insurance provider is aware of this collision. They are the ones that will work to resolve liability issues on your behalf, and the first ones to notify in this situation.

Usually a choice in this type of situation is not an option. Your insurance company will act on your behalf to determine who is liable. Usually there will be an agreement between opposing companies what percentage of liability their clients should assume. Based on evidence, and police investigation, including witness statements, a determination will then be made for restitution. There are companies that will deny any and all claims against them; even with substantial evidence against their case. At this point the companies resort to the legal system to determine the outcome. This is something an individual doesn't want to be involved with. Let the insurance companies battle it out; that is why you have insurance in the first place; to protect your interests.

The, saying you are also at fault is insurance blabbery. Statistically everyone is at fault for being on the road. The more you drive, the more likely an accident will happen.

So when they say where you hit him proves some is your fault, it is just the normal crap. Google about insurance fighting accidents with fatalities. Even the insurance company of the person killed will try in a way to prove their client was in the wrong to avoid paying out.

Blame lawyers, but you can't live without them. They made the system so they stay in work.

In a nutshell. Dude ran a light, end of story. Insurance companies don't to weasel out of paying. NJ is one of the worst states with auto insurance. So much so it is a no fault state. I am sure more states will with the garbage that NJ auto insurance does. Btw, I pay over 3k a year in insurance... Just dumb, no tickets or anything.

its going to be a long ****ed road. I t-boned a lady making a left turn in front of me, I know for a fact I had green and she was in a turn lane that was a left turn only lane with its own light, because the first thing I did when I slammed into her was look over my right shoulder and saw her turn light was red...I got the police report and it put her at fault her insurance company had some light checker dude go to the intersection and supposedly sit there for x amount of time and said that the light malfunctions, they put it at 50-50 fault. Police report meant nothing -_- . I still ended up getting 2k for my car which was a CRX and 1500 for some pain and suffering, I hit the lady so hard I bent my steering wheel. It took almost 6 months to get resolved. And i had to sign off saying I wouldn't sue...part of me wishes I did but my lawyer said it really would not be worth the time and aggravation. I wish you much luck in getting taken care of and i am sorry to see you have to deal with this situation :-(

Your deductible will be refunded to you if the other company assumes liability for all the damage. If your company has to pay out anything to settle the claim, or there is a determination of shared % of liability, your deductible likely will be forfeited. I know this doesn't seem fair, and it isn't, but that is how the system works.

I don't see how they can not possibly total that thing, the airbags alone will run the cost of a new Sonic.
And I'd like to call dibs and offer you the first price on all the chrome pieces that come off your new Sonic when you get it

Well talking to a dealer I bought mine lat jan for like 15.5k ls, manual windows 15 alloys etc. now I can get lt, power windows fogs, and 16in factory black rims for 15k so same price for more options
