I should also set a minimum amount of miles a month. Like 200 so we don't get any cherry pickers. I guess we can play that by ear.

How should we go about possible vendor stickers or other swag to keep people motivated. Whoever give the prize can select the category for the win.
Like a tuner company can request the winner have a tune. For obvious reasons.

I would be surprised if we had it running smooth by month 2. Many unforeseen thing can happen.

Between all of the categories it really doesn't matter. The main reason is to get some baseline data on the performance. Plus over a month, three to four tanks can have many changes.
Think about all the answers you could have with users posting MPG. It could answer the 87/91 debate. The true difference between the 1.4 and 1.8., and does the tune in real world improve MPG. Of course for the first few months people will try to be on their best mpg behavior. But it won't last as people actively post results.

As a building trades brother, I know that the commute changes from job to job.
I think it'll fun to compare the effects of each.
You'll be able to say: Those couple of months when I was city driving to Xcompany, I was getting xxMPG. But on my long highway commute to my new job at Ycompany, I'm getting xxxMPG!!!
LOL at triple digit MPG on highway.

Your type of commute will be taken into account, and will be able to be compared to others with similar drives. You should participate
While we are discussing this, I'd be happy to modify the spreadsheet for personal use for anyone wanting to document their own MPG in the same way we are doing this. I can format for Excel and for Numbers on Mac. PM me if you'd like one.

Your ADD at its finest. I can't play with excel for more than 4 minutes.
A common misconception about ADD is that it doesn't allow people to focus. While that is sometimes true, I think a good analogy is bipolar focus.
Either scattered focus, or extreme focus. But not much gradient in between.

That is why the classification has been changed to ADHD. More and more classification are being lumped into 'spectrums' due to comorbidity.
