Chevy refuses to update mylink

[LS6-M22]

I called my dealer as stated in the Bringgo thread and they stated that there is no update just a bluetooth fix.We I called Chevy customer service and they said they would look into it.Well I got a call back today and the lady confirmed what the dealer told me the other day. No update available for me.I told her about the Chevy website stating a free update but she said I am misinformed. She gave me a case number if Vanessa or Matt are reading this and can help me out.Its 71-116-2963827.I tried to PM but its full

2013.Funny but now I just got a call from the service manager and he is more than happy to update my "my link".Thanks to anyone who may have helped out

I had this same problem today. Went in for them to check what I thought was some weird shifting and mentioned the Mylink update. When they came back out he told me there wasn't one. So, of course I pointed him to the PI 0914 and he came back asking me if I was having problems with my bluetooth. When I asked him if I needed to to get the update I wanted he just smiled and walked away. 45 minutes later and I was leaving with my updated Sonic and a complimentary oil change for answering a customer service survey

I had an appointment at my dealer today. When I got there the service writer told me they couldn't do the update because they were having some sort of trouble with the download. She said she doesn't know when it will be able to work but that she would give me a call and reschedule. Seems like a lot of trouble for a so called simple update.....

When I got my JD Powers survey, one of the things I mentioned about the MyLink was that Chevrolet doesn't allow for customers to download firmware updates and install themselves. I am tech savvy enough to know how to copy a firmware update to a USB flash drive and update my system.

Dodge had that setup for their audio systems, and it worked perfectly for me.

Virtually everything is user upgradable now. The only other CE device that I have come across in years which required dealer or a certified tech to upgrade was a Hitachi 57F59 rear projection TV. And the fact that it was a Hitachi and rear projection kinda tells the whole story of how long ago that was.

I got the iphone app now, but when i called the dealer they were all clueless. I called two different dealers looking for the software upgrade to the mylink.

Good thing the MyLink Upgrade training will take place March 21, that way all the Chevy dealers will be ready if any Sonic MyLink user desires it. :sadbanana:

When I took my car in to try to do the update on the 28th the service guy told me the release date for the upgrade was on that day but when I first heard news on the forum I had called a dealer and they informed me they had tried one and it failed that was weeks earlier, so who knows if there was just a lapse in comunication or what but got my update and it when smooth was done in two hours with a recall included.
