She was doing well after the last time we said something. But now she's regressing. I will drive myself if it continues.

I have a CDL and when you drive for a loving you see things other drivers don't. Makes you a believer that yes, it CAN happen to you.

I started riding dirt bikes and ATVs at age 6 and nearly lost my life many times up till around age 12 or 13 when I got really good at knowing what not to do.

At 60MPH you are going 5280 feet per second. Even blinking can be long enough to miss something, forget about staring at a phone.

BTW, impressed at the CDL, I'd like to get mine as I think it could come in handy.

I hate the coach busses I see on my commute because they take up damn near an entire lane and insist on going 75 even 85MPH. At those speeds of course they end up in other lanes coming real close to other cars and what not. Then you have the other ones which insist on being in the left lane going 10mph under the speed limit especially on hills.

My mother inlaws family used to own a bus company (school bus) she talks about it all the time.

And I know our horse trailer is a handful with winds. And that's even hauling it with a small semi!

A MINOR mistake......

Either way, 88 feet per second is pretty fast when you think about it. Anyone that has ever been on a motorcycle and looked straight down knows the feeling.

it's not actually exciting. it's the aviation equivalent of pedal to the metal. it's military aviation based. in many planes, control sticks are topped with a ball grip. one is the throttle; obviously to go faster you push it all the way forward, to the front of the ****pit, or firewall. Another control is the joystick. So, literally pushing the balls to the (fire)wall would put a plane into a maximum-speed dive, and figuratively going balls to the wall is doing something all out, with maximum effort.

On topic of math, Preloader mentioned in a post about a 383 stroker his father built. The math behind it is (pi((.5d)^2))*s*c=cid : where d is piston diameter (4.030") after 30 over bore, s is stroke (3.48"), c is number of cylinders, and cid is cubic inches of displacement.

As far as I am aware it came from steam engines. The speed governors had balls which spun and the faster it ran, the further out they went. "balls out" meant as fast as it could go, because they were fully extended.

You can see it in this video spinning at the top near the driver. 50 seconds in they become real visible.
