I would have to say, put a the same car, manual and auto against each other, no matter a pinto or muscle car...auto will win 10 out of 10 times...everything else being equal.
edit: because you take away the chance for a miss shift, and it's also very hard to shift faster than an auto.

I agree autos are the best for drag racing.
Now lets talk real life because drag racing is meaningless.
Manual, takes far more skill to drive but gives you far more control of the vehicle. I'm talking a real manual with a clutch, not an auto with manual mode which is useless.
They are also much more fun to drive to people who know how to operate them. They are simpler, and most of the time much cheaper to repair. In the case of the Sonic they get better gas mileage.
Fact is, anyone who drives a manual, no matter how good you are, will stall from time to time. For example, making a right turn at a stop light on a steep hill as a really hot girl walks by.

You're talking all things equal, like power to the wheels.
Take two identical cars, except for trans, and I bet it would be different from 10/10. Look at power at the crank being identical.

nope, I still think auto will win. I think 20% drivetrain loss in power with auto tranny, would still beat a 15% drivetrain loss in a manual.

Been to 2 games already this season and to me, that is what my favorite part of summer is.
Get to the ballpark about 2-3 hours early, fire up the grill, crack some ice cold brews, and just shoot the **** and have a great time. I absolutely love it.
I know around here prices are pretty decent for tickets and they even let you bring in non alcoholic beverages and snacks too.
