RS front grill

Does anyone know if the RS grill has the same dimensions and the same mounting points as the grill on the other sonics? I like the look of it, hides the "mustache" with the hex pattern out in front

One guy modified an RS grill to fit, but it's way more involved than the average DIY'er can handle.

Turns out that the openings are slightly different and the Chevy emblem is larger on the RS.

Think someone has done the bumper already, no issue... on a hatch of course.

If the RS has the same fenders as the other models, then e bumper will fit. Nothing under the bumper or fenders is different in the LS,LT,LTZ,RS, hatch or sedan.

I've ordered a set. Hopefully I can get them to fit well. I does seem to be pretty involved to make them work. Hopefully I didn't waste my money.

The guy who tried it did not document it very well. If you could document the areas that need the biggest modifications, I think it would really help people decide if they want to tackle the mod or not.

I don't know if it is possible, but I would focus on making the RS grille fit the stock surround as cleanly as possible in the hope that it would cover up the difference between the emblem cutout. Good luck.

to really make this work well, I think you will need to keep the stock chrome and stock mounting tabs which unfortunately are part of the "mustache and lower" if you cut all of the out and leave the tabs, it should fit back into its home like nothing has changed. The hard part is going to be cutting up the rs grill to fit into black stock portion of a non-RS grill.

If you do it this way, it will ensure the bowtie area doesnt look crappy with uneven gaps. It will also make sure the chrome and grill snap back together without issues.

That is basically what im doing with my billet style only making the middle portion myself.

interesting, I'll definitely have to look that one up

as far as the grill goes, that doesn't seem too difficult. Beastlick's shutter-like grill does look pretty sweet also. decisions, decisions...

Here's my $.02...I spent about an hr tonight looking over the stk and the RS grills I purchased to see what it would take to get the RS ones to work. I decided that it wasn't worth taking a $200 gamble to try and make them work and fit worth a darn. Too many subtle differences (Damn you Chevy!)between them that made me feel like all the time and effort to get them in there could be better spent on other, more rewarding mods.
I'm gonna blk out the chrome on the RS Grills and just sell them to an RS owner for what I've got in them.
