I thought they did away with hand [window] cranks a long time ago. I didn't think that was even an option anymore, for any vehicle.

I know there are still some who would rather have analog and manual everything... less to go wrong electronically. Not me... but to each their own I suppose.

Still, at the very least the hand cranks are out of place visually... very odd-looking at this particular point in auto history. Even a tad bit neanderthal.

Almost humorous, and definitely ugly to me, for some reason.

GM tends to be similar to Honda in the respect they both charge a little too much.

I'm going guess, without actually building one, a fully loaded Sonic LTZ with either engine or tranny offered is going to be extremely close to $20,000.00, if not over 20 grand. Which, regardless of build quality, is a little ridiculous for a sub compact with a small 4 cylinder.

In GM's defense, at least their interiors and sheet metal usually have some substance... much better than Honda's offerings in the same categories.

There is a lot to like about my Fit Sport... especially the wonderful little engine Honda put into this subbie. I can't say much for interior materials -- even though they disguise interior cheapness well -- and the exterior skin will dent if you do much more than look at it! Paint jobs on some Hondas suck too.

My hope is -- aside from hand cranks -- Chevy puts their usual build quality into the Sonic. It is a give and take battle between quality and fuel economy with sub compacts. I want good gas mileage, especially these days. But after owning the Fit, I suppose I'm willing to sacrifice a couple of miles to the gallon on the Sonic in order to get a better paint job and sheet metal a little more sturdy than that used in manufacturing tin cans!

Those hand cranks gotta' go though!

Guys, I would like to point out that it is a 2LS and the LS's can't have anything but Manual windows. Now I really don't know what options are on it, it is a bit too blurry for me to make out, although I can tell it has one the only available extras, the improved radio with XM radio. And the edmunds pricing guide says a 2LS with that option comes out to "Total Price $16,380 $16,815" so yeah...
P.S. the automatic is supposed to be more than the manual.

Your price may include the destination charge. Edmunds.com has the pricing and I verified it to be correct with my dealer when I ordered. As piro216 said, LS only comes with cranks...There are not many options on the LS

Yeah that is confusing? It appears that both are LS models. Does an LS with manual get a different stereo?

I much prefer the look of this alternate version.. it looks a little more German dash style, albeit a bit more plain looking.

I wonder what the deal is? I would be totally stoked if this is what my car looked like.


edit: NM. This is an LS without the CD player. Durr.

To think I got all excited about the look of the base stereo on the LS. I really like it compared to the upgraded version on all other trims.

Here is a sedan auto with the upgraded wheels on the fog light/wheel package which makes it look much more appealing. To me, the sedan NEEDS the bigger wheels to look normal. The sedan with the 15s looks jenky. The hatch seems to look fine with the standard 15s.

As to sound systems, the ls and the not upgraded lt do not have cd and other capabilities such as xm. You can upgrade the system on the lt and the upgraded system is standard on the lz.

I noticed the fog light equipped lt has vin 100527 and appears to be the only car of the 124 on carsDOTcom that is less than 1100, the rest ranging in numbers up to around 4200.

$15k for crank windows & no CD player. I like the Sonic, the 5dr is on my list to replace my Cavalier, but at a $2500 premium over the base Aveo5? I guess we'll see if it's worth it when they make their way to this end of the country.

If you are considering an 2011 Aveo5, you'd better jump on it quick! There must be really good blow-out deals on remaining Aveos!

On the cheaper LS model it is a standard double din slot. You can put whatever deck you please in it. The more expensive models have it built into the dash, so no upgrading their.
