Regardless, Meguiars Quick Detail is a completely different product and is only recommended for detail touchup on a clean surface..

We have a product that does the same, called DWG Quick Mist.

What drives me nuts are the buzz words. Ion polymer, hydrophobia

Then you have the chemistry explanation. Those chemistry explanations and buzz words give me the chills.

All that needs to be said, the polymer bonds with the clear coat (hence the need for a charge which normally is the same charge for dirt. So it repels). Other catalysts like water dissolve and suspend dirt so it can be wiped away.

Ion technology... Anions or cations?

There are other products just like this besides these two.

I would still try this product and even use it on a normal basis. But not to replace a washing...

Totally agree. A good old fashioned hand wash is the ONLY way to properly clean your car. That said, this product does work great as a detailing spray.

You are right to be wary of marketing buzzwords Zod, and you are also correct that there are other 'waterless car wash' products on the market. If you want want to take car of your Sonic's new paint do yourself a favor and just avoid this stuff. I have a longtime friend who does bodywork and painting; he has dealt with this Dri-Wash issues and says there are way better 'waterless car wash' products on the market (that dont have the risk of damaging you paint like this product). This product contains kerosene and it will strip any kind of real wax/sealer from your car, here's some MSDS info that I could find. You can also find a video on youtube where some 'tube' writes with a sharpie on a panel and uses 'Dri-Wash n Guard Ultra-Ion' to remove it; kerosene is a solvent and...surprise body-shops will use solvents to remove permanent marker from your paint (dude even mentions what these solvents can do to your finish if it is not applied and removed quickly). Furthermore, the kerosene is what makes it so shiny (and why it attracts dust like crazy, but at least they can sell you another product to deal with that dust lol). Most car detailing/auto-body professionals (that are worth their salt) would tell you to avoid it like the plague for it's potential to damage your finish, but it gets better....

DWGInternational is a MLM business (multi-level marketing, aka legal pyramid scheme) and the people who sell it have a financial stake in the company. This 'business' opportunity is (was) a great opportunity for the "directors" (guys at the top of the pyramid). Maybe the "managers" (middle of the pyramid) do okay in this MLM company. The "dealers" however get the joy of paying money to this company to end up working for them (would a mechanic pay a car dealership to be employed by them?). If their product was a good as their sales pitches claim you would see it for sale at Pepboy's, Autozone, Advance Auto et. al. not random people on a car forum; go check out any car detailing forum like autogeek and you will see plenty of "dealers" trying to push this crap, getting locked/closed and rarely do they get vendor status on these forums. I'm kinda surprised no one researched the heck out of this product before buying this stuff (if you like it, that's fine but if you have swirl marks all over your car in a in a few years just realize that the kerosene's oily sheen does a great job of hiding swirl marks). These are the people who approach your car to demo this revolutionary . In the last 7 years I've encountered at least 5 different 'Dri-Wash n Go' dealers trying to demo that crap on my 00' Prelude in NY alone; fortunately I was smart enough not to let them do a demonstration on my 'lude. Guess how many 'dealers' of Dri-Wash are located in NY as of this post? 2, yep only 2 dealers for the whole state of NY, I wonder why there aren't at least 5 in my state? Maybe they got so rich they retired

And besides, this stuff is overpriced , bout' $62.95 bucks (before shipping) for 64 ounces?!?!I can pickup a bottle of Pinnacle's waterless wash concentrate for $17.99 (before shipping) and which will make 4 GALLONS (512 ounces!!) and it doesn't use kerosene for crying out loud!! And I've known of professional detailers that use pinnacle products, cant say I've heard any of them using Dri-Wash.

I am blown away that sonicownersforum.com would let a multi-level marketing company become a paid vendor, but it aint' no sweat off my back. I certainly wouldn't use this on my Sonic that's for sure. Buyer beware.................

First, I want to thank you for joining this forum and using your first post to bad mouth my product.. I welcome those who are skeptics.

Second, you have not used my product so you have no right to criticize something you know nothing about and what you've heard is just hearsay..

To address your issues; Some may consider my business multi level marketing but I see it as a way to help those who cant find jobs in this tough economy. That's why I joined. I have worked other MLM companies that are just in it for the money and the products were not that good.

Dri Wash n Guard is a great product and there is no minimum purchase required to be a Distributor and sign up is only $44.65 and $25 per yr. after. Other companies have large entry fee and require a minimum monthly product purchase.
At DWG, you only purchase what you want to sell.

The reason its not sold in stores is because its not a product that will sell without seeing a demo first hand because there are a lot of people like you out there who would walk right by it on the shelf without giving it a second thought. That's why I send out FREE samples at my cost. And this is why they hire independent distributors. (to create jobs and get the word out on a great product).

Lets talk Kerosene. Yes, there is a minimal amount in our product but not enough to make it flammable( and its environmental friendly) The kerosene is used to make the product slippery and helps remove Bugs, Tar, and other products that are actually harmful to your paint surface. Its used in other bug & tar removers as well and has never been proven to hurt the paint surface.

And Cost; The reason you say it is expensive is because you've never used it and don't realize that only 2oz on average will do the entire car.. So, in reality, a 64oz will wash n polish your car 32 times.. Its only $2 per wash, shine & protect.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. But please don't come on here and try and destroy my product & reputation unless you have all the facts. There are a lot of people on this Forum who have tried Dri Wash n Guard and are very impressed with the results!

Lid. You are entitled to your opinion of the product and company, but you need to remember it is your opinion only. I haven't used the product because I'm not that crazy about keeping my Sonic clean, but there are several members who have used the product and are satisfied with the results.

And the staff at SOF isn't in the business of judging business models or organizations. Again, your opinion of the company is your opinion only. Any company that wishes to become a vendor can do so, as long as the company isn't unlawful or otherwise questionable.

Like blueturboit said. A lot of the bug and tar removers use a solvate to remove the bugs and tar. Heck I've even wiped down my car with a reducer to clean all the wax off. A little bit will not hurt a thing. I used dwg before car shows to shine her up a little and one of my customers swears by the dwg classic for his srt 10 and his son uses it on his Sti. It comes down to: if you don't like it don't use it.

I'll admit, I have never used this product personally, although some guy had demo'd it on his dirty pickup truck in a parking lot when I was 18 (what I can only assume would be the DWG product; he made simliar comments like 'only 2-3oz used to wash and seal your car so in the end its real cheap' and 'saving the environment through water conservation and waste compared to traditional washing'). I was driving my first car which was a '89 Taurus beater and; I had no intention of buying the product cause I planned on running that beat old, really high mileage, car into the ground. I figured it was pretty darnn good, and that someday down the road (when I had a really nice car and a reason to treat it as something more than just transportation) it'd be offered for sale at all the large chains and big box stores; this awesome product would save me hours of my life keeping my baby perfect.

Fast forward 9 years, I finally had a car to baby, (a one owner 00' Prelude SH wit 57k) and I also watched my best friend and his parents piss away $500 to join that MLM "Ambit Energy" and piss away $40 a month after that for 3 years before they opted out (they broke even for a while then a bunch of their customers went back to NYSEG along with nearly all of their "downstream consultants" opting out). I still feel bad about how badly they got scammed; my opinions about DWG or bad attitude only comes from a place of wanting to protect people from MLM companies and the money they take from people (based on my past experiences). I must admit I have been impressed with the video's and pics posted in this thread so far, but when I started googling "Dri Wash" it was within minutes that I learned that it is in fact a MLM company; red flags were raised and I remembered my neighbours plight.

I'd be willing to give it a shot (hell I'll even buy it from you Rob for trashing your product with my first post; sorry about being so uncouth about it), seems like lots of regular folks praise it. A friend of mine owns his own auto-body/used-car business and he loves 'waterless car washes' because it brings a lot of bodywork to his garage. But, then again he's never used it either so maybe I should give it a go.

However, before I spend the money, I have one question.... Will this product behave like a sealant or a wax (or at least somewhat close to it)? For example, before applying DWG ultra ion I am going to do a hand wash and clay; If I apply the DWG after doing this (let it haze and then gently wipe/buff with a clean 'Cobra Deluxe 600 Micro Fiber' towel) will it be more like a carnuba wax in that water will bead off the paint for 2-3 months, or more like a quality sealant in which water will bead off for 5-6 months?

After a paste wax (colonite 476) for my LSP on my Sonic (daily driver) it will still bead water for 3-4 weeks without any washes in between after applying the wax; will DWG Utra-Ion perform just as well (still bead water) if used as a LSP and no re-applications for 3-4 weeks?

When I wash my car with it I apply turtle wax ice after I use ultra ion. My car will bead water for about. 2 months ( I would be longer but I I though a car wash once a week if not more, I live on dirt roads and it takes a toll on the paint.)

Please at-least try a free sample, if you don't like it at-least it was free to you and you don't have I buy any.
