installed a god speed catch can today what do u think?

i was pleased how it came out i have ran it all day i have found no leaks and no problems. when i cut the line to splice into it was very oily inside.

They theoretically capture oil from crank case vent fumes before they are recirculated back through the intake. A good catch can does this through routing your PCV system through a drainable "can" full of course filter media. But plenty of noobs install the can without filter media greatly reducing its effectiveness.

And that leads me to a question for the OP...

I bought one and haven't installed it yet, it was like $10 on eBay. I'm thinking of cutting it open instead to gander at the innards because science.

Maybe if it is crap, I can find a way to fill it with longer inner tubes and catch plates and seal it back together.

I'm willing to bet that it is completely hollow and the connectors dump straight into the top

Make the inlet tube a tad longer inside the can than the outlet, but don't go deep enough that it will submerge in the caught oil. Fill the can with course steel wool bundled in a tough shop rag (so the steel wool shards don't find their way into the intake). And if you can, mount it below the PCV outlet.

Does it matter how long the hoses are? There is lots of room behind the bumper where my air snorkel no longer resides. I can run the pcv valve side through the rectangle hole below the SAB and the intake hose route through next to the radiator hose, it might be completely hidden.

I'm thinking total run distance of 4ft, pcv to intake.

Shouldn't matter as long as you have slope down to it from the PCV.

I guess I'm the lucky one. I get no oil into my turbo and the I.D. of my stock charge tube was completely absent of any oil evidence.

there is a drain on the bottom of the can. i just loosen the clamp holding the can and slide it up then put a cup under it and open the drain. that is why i made the hose a little longer than needed.
