13 ltz!

I finally got a sonic, and surprisingly, an LTZ sonic. I got this brand new turbo manual LTZ for a little over $18,000 with tax, title, registration, and a 6 year bumper to bumper GM warranty with no deductible included in that price. With a credit sore of only around 600 (long story), I scored an 8% interest rate from GM financial and paid around three thousand less than the msrp, and my total price was still a thousand under msrp! I've had her a couple of weeks, so the detail job you see here is my work. Wash and dry them right and you won't get those nasty swirl marks.

Good looking car. I got an 1.8 LT (5 speed). Yeah, and I have some light scratches in my clear coat when you look at it in the sun. Going to buy all the correct stuff to wash here on out, and give it a good polish to remove the scratches already incurred.

hahahaahah lol omg Looks like I stole your car! I did get it from the dallas area! No it's not a typo. For a person with a score of 600, that's a really good rate, though. There was another silver LTZ manual available when I looked. Wow looks like I got it in just the nick of time lol (no offense). Holy crap is it hard to find a manual turbo in Texas. My dealer here has a ton of sonics, but every single one is an automatic and they only have the turbo in their RS models. I don't understand why it's so hard to find a turbo manual when that version is what gets the 40mpg that chevy advertises so heavily 3with.

Oh that silver one is still there... sitting idle in inventory for months now. Probably could get a steal on that car since the dealer likely has hold backs from GM now to move it out of inventory.

So that's why no dealer orders a manual anything unless GM forces the allocation on them. I am actually shocked, and glad, GM even offers a manual option on the LTZ model version. In all of Texas, I suspect we can count on one hand the number of people interested in manual transmission sonics in 2013.

But I didn't want silver as a color. Almost any other color would do, just not silver.

It's just as well. I wanted that brick interior option and no one in the US had that with a manual turbo LTZ. Plus I got to order a few more options that I thought would be nice.

Good write up. I do all of my waxing by hand and have always wondered about those cheap Kmart like electric buffers. Years ago (1980's) I was a detailer at a couple dealerships and used the real (burns if your not careful) buffers. That cheap buffer could make it less fatiguing as well.

Well at least you got a sonic and you're getting what you want. I guess manuals just aren't popular here, which is completely opposite from europe. I think they're fun to drive, plus I like that added gas mileage they give. I'm stationed in Abilene, TX and I can get 31-32 city if I drive conservatively. The only problem I'm having with the manual is that sometimes my rear left tendon hurts because I'm bow legged. I had a manual back in high school and I never experienced pain, but I guess my legs are getting old now, lol. Here we are, two of the handful of people in Texas that wanted a manual, two people that were eyeing the same car, and we've run into each other somehow, lol. The internet makes this world a small one. Hopefully you get your sonic soon and sorry about stealing the apple of your eye away, lol.

Thanks. I apologize for the "insulting" description, as you already have experience with this stuff! Yeah I was nervous about the cheap orbital, but everything turned out great. I bought the 6" polisher so I could easily polish the smaller areas, but they have a nicer 10" inch that obviously would make the job a lot quicker, and it has nice holding handles.

I tried the credit unions here, to no avail. There's a reason my once good score is lower now, and that is what made it so hard to get approved by anyone but places like the usmiles program for active duty or horrid "road loans" type companies. I've always wanted the sonic and got a used 11' aveo before I knew the sonic was coming out (yay for that because now I have a touchscreen), so I needed to trade this aveo before I started to lose money on a trade in. I couldn't do a personal sale for fear that I wouldn't get approved for a new car, so I had to stick with an inferior trade in sale. I also didn't want to wait until years down the riad to have a new car. Hell I almost ended up with a focus because I thought I couldn't get any approval on the sonic and I really hated that nasty aveo. It was a thorn in my side. I was tired of fixing my 96' honda (old faithful and an awesome car), so I got the aveo because it was cheap and had a factory warranty still. Plus it had a/c, ahhhhh.
