Hey y'all I'm new to the forum. I don't currently own a Sonic, but plan to by next spring. I currently own a Jeep and my wife owns a VW. I plan on paying the Jeep off with income tax then selling it and using the money for a down payment. I want to get the 1.4T 6MT hatch. I haven't completely decided what color yet. I've been snooping on this forum all weekend and y'all definitely sold the car to me!

It is good fuel economy! I drive like a maniac and still get over 28mpg. Welcome to the forum.

That's great! I just filled my Jeep up earlier. I put 16.3 gallons and had about 250 miles on that tank of gas, so about 15.5 MPG.

I've been getting a good average of 32mpg mixed, I drive spiritedly in town but stay close to speed limits unless passing on the highway.
However, I filled up and reset the trip and my MPG avg and spent a few days just goofing off around town for a total of 7.7 miles.

in town i switch to 5th gear around high 20s/ low 30s and 6th gear high thirties for good MPG. You'll have no passing power, but i averaged 38MPG last tank! I just do quick down shifts if i need to accelerate.

I drive mine not so lightly and i average around 25-28mpg in the city normally. Last two days after filling up yesterday morning and driving it very conservitive, i was able to push mine city only driving, to 34.3mpg!! Picture Below...
My Vehicles i had before my sonic didnt fair so well with MPG. My Truck For sure, an 06 Dodge Dakota, That thing ate gas like no tomorrow. Terrible gas mileage in it. 12-15mpg at best. so when i got my sonic and started seeing 22-25-28+ mpg out of it i was very happy! Still am! Esp after getting the above number today! have had mine 1 year and 3 months now.

Welcome aboard. The fuel economy is very impressive during spirited driving, but gets even better when you try for it. I have had a best of 44 in town, working for it pretty good but I could've gotten better. I have seen 39+ consistently on the highway with the air on and running summer blend 91. That could be better as well, but I am satisfied enough that I don't try for it.
