Bringgo a no go

Bringgo came on my Sonic RS as anticipated. But, check first to see if your phone is compatible at Bringgo.com. Neither my new Samsung S4 Galaxy nor my Samsung Exhibit 2 work with the infotainment system of the mylink unit. Very crappy job by GM pushing Bringgo and also negative kudos to Bringgo for having apps for so very few phones. Buyer beware, we already paid the $60 for the app and now can't use it, total crap. Talked to GM and they and the dealer's rep's are of no help.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Besides my S4 not being supported by Bringgo I have found that USB is not supported, not even for charging. Also, I have to wait 60 seconds for bluetooth to connect after starting the car. Finally, the last app I was using (Pandora) does not default, so I have to go through the menu to select.

My wife has an iPhone 4. When she gets in her car, she starts the engine and instantly has Pandora.

Updates for Galaxy S4? I haven't been able to get your company to respond to an email. I've noticed there have been no further additions to the approved list of Android devices. Has Bringgo abandoned further development?

Trying to route and get failures every time

I have use bringgo locally in south jersey in the trial version successfully a new times. Since I was taking a road trip to disney world I paid the 59.99 for the full app. Now I can find disney's contemporary hotel and my stop at Fairfield Inn in Georgia (1319 east kings ave, kingsland GA), but it fails to route every time. I don't get it because the maps are clearly loaded properly. I can finds everything and points of interest, but if it won't give me the route with the turn by turn directions, what's the point. I have an iPhone 5, so even though I paid $60 for your app, I'm stuck using siri and the apple maps. Please resolve or I want my money back. This is useless and had south potential.

I have a Samsung Exhibit II which I bought so I could use BringGo, so you know my dismay when I discovered I was compatible but II not. I have numerous posts in this thread and they are all about the Exhibit II. But as time passed, I found I could download and use BringGo even tough it is not on the list of compatibles (Samsung T 769) and I always get a message on the phone when using BringGo that the phone is not tested and to use at my own risk.

I have learned that to do some updates I have to uninstall and reinstall the app and the maps. Reinstalling the app is not much of a problem but reinstalling the maps goes on and on forever.

I never talked to the dealer about the problem because I see this as a problem only Chevrolet can solve if they are willing to solve it. Chevy Customer Care has asked for info so a solution can be facilitated but I have chosen my own route to solution: so it works for me and as best as I can tell is working as advertised even though I still get the message that it has not been tested therefore is to be used at my risk! Whatever that means.

Yes you did. It seems the more out of date your cell phone is the more likely it will be compatible to BringGo. Only in the world of Chevrolet would that make sense.

We'd like to check if you have the maps for all the states needed to make a route from New Jersey to Florida; i.e. NJ, PA, DE, MD, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL . We would ask you to contact the support team at support@engistech.com and provide the the start address for the route that failed. We can then examine the issue in more detail. Thank you.

I had the same problem from San Diego (CA) to Las Vegas (NV) and I only had the CA and NV maps loaded on my phone (tried to simply things). It wouldn't route to the NV address until I was in Nevada. BUT, on the way home it was able to route from Las Vegas (NV) to my home in San Diego (CA). Glitches man... nothin but glitches.


Has anyone been able to get BringGo to work on a late model Android phone? I am looking at getting a Galaxy 4s...

To everyone who can't install Bringgo on their Galaxy phones. If you're willing to root your phone, then you can install an app called "device spoofer" and have it spoof your device (after you do a backup) to for example an SGH-I747. Just restart after you spoof it. Go to the play store, install bringgo and then restore your old device information in the device spoofer app. Worked like a charm for me on my Verizon Galaxy S4.

I know a lot of people don't want to root or don't know how to, so this is probably a solution for very few people, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks. I rooted my Galaxy S4 Active and now Bringgo works on Mylink. Don't think I will buy it, though. Better GPS apps on my phone.

I have about given up on BringGo @ this point. I have sent a couple of emails to customer support, and haven't received anything back regarding this. I moved from a Galaxy 2s which had various inconsistant errors with BringGo, and now cannot run it at all with a Galaxy 4s (may consider rooting to try it that way)... Being that the Galaxy 4s is outselling IOS phones (4, 4S, 5, etc)... I sure hope the HOLD is changed into a priority/completion/supported device.

It seems the biggest issue with the Galaxy S4 is the I/O interface between Bringgo Corporate and the end user (YOU).... I, as with others, do have this actually running on my S4 and do not appear to have any issues. It seems you are being overly cautious about items that may or may not be real and just causing the end users to find another means. Pirate, hack or whatever it takes.

I'm just looking for official support so I can get updates through a normal channel.

Found my problem! I downloaded eastern states but Virginia wasn't included so it could only route on the two sides. Apparently Bringgo doesn't recognize that Virginia is an eastern state even though it touches the coast! At least I found the problem.

Hi mmd616. Thank you for checking the states needed for you to route from NJ to FL. You can check which maps are downloaded using the Map Manager in Settings. Thank you. BringGo Support.

Tell Bringo No HOV. How???

Bringgo routes me on to HOV HOT lanes. How do I turn off HOV?
Issue I-95 has HOT Lanes for HOV traffic. When going North on I-95 in afternoon/evening Bringgo routs me onto the Hot Lanes. But Lanes are open to South bound traffic only. This results in: the traffic info to stay green, because there is no N. bound Traffic on HOV, routes me to the wrong exit, and makes me think this could cause a head on collision. Anyone else have this issue?

Uh, no. But I do not live in a HOV HOT state.

Now, for those such as myself, and maybe just for me, how about defining what HOV HOT is. And yes, my request does depend on what one means by the word is.
