How to enable fog lights with high beams on?

I'm wanting to know if anyone knows of a way to enable fog lights when the high beams are turned on. FYI in Wisconsin you are allowed a max of six forward facing lamps to be on.

I've had my highs on for a grand total of about 2 min in the year I've had the car. I'd be interested in making low/high dual bulbs work in the high beams and having 4 lows on for night driving.

I have relays running my fogs to work in sync with the parking lights. One click turns them and the parking lights on. Work with high beams as well.

I brought it up before, and the response was that the bulb reflector housings are not designed for proper low beam operation.

But like anything else, you have to take risks to get results. I'd love to see someone dig into the idea further.

Its a nice idea for sure. I rarely use the High Beams. Maybe someone needs to rework the setup so that the inner High Beams shells can be used as low beam lights. I dont use the HIGH Beam Setting as i feel you get LESS light from the High Beam than you do with the LOW + FOGS Setup. So i just plan on upgrading my Low Beams and Fogs so i can get better light at night. High Beams are a waste to me in this car.

I use the highs all the time.

Especially when I've got some people in the car. Some people assume the brights are on and I must convince them otherwise.

Same here. I drive in the country quite often at night and the high beams really come in handy. I can see if you drive in the city 90+% of the time how you'd never need them though.

Yep being rural changes the demands for lighting. Gotta see the critters and potholes before they meet you.

So I figure if I can have the fogs on with the other sets.....why not?

does anyone out there have a diagram of the wiring for the headlight switch assembly? I found out in my focus to jump a wire and it worked... can do the same for the sonic... just need the wiring diagram...

if not i can just prod around with a voltage meter.

So I figure if I can have the fogs on with the other sets.....why not?

I agree. I've always wanted to be able to retain the fog lights being illuminated on my cars while the high beams are activated.

If you're gonna jump it, use a diode. Dont want the fogs to loop your high beams.

I can see jumping your highs to your lows but I doubt you can just jump he fog wire is in a different place I believe.

Lows stay on with hi beam on my 13 RS.
Would like to run fogs automatically with any headlights.

You may have to wire a new switch and bypass the module that controls lighting completely. The OEM foglight switch feels like it's just a momentary switch (only "on" while pressed) so it might not be possible to use it without a relay controller of sorts that works with it.

I believe there's a legal reason why OEMs wire them to turn off when highbeams come on. So, modders beware.

Exactly, I found out the expensive way. We have a 4 light only law here.
I had a car with 4 headlights (like the Sonic). In that car, the lows stayed on even with the highs. I bought aftermarket fogs and wired them direct from battery-thru a toggle switch. Which means I had all 4 headlights, and 2 fogs on at the same time. --- A $200 ticket for 6 headlights taught me right away.
