Well I just did the same thing, except FRS. I really liked my Sonic and in many ways its a much better value for fun, but its not quite a sports car.


As for the FRS, yep its slow. In fact even after reading all of the press about it I was still surprised with the lack of oomph,

But I drove miatas for years and they made me smile so I can live with this and still tote my two year old back and forth to daycare. Plus its wicked fun to have right wheel drive again.

Congrats. Those are sweet rides. I would consider one but there are no trailer hitches available for them to carry my hitch mounted bike racks.

The base 2014 they had was an automatic the others were 10th anniversary editons with more $ addons than I wanted. So I did the 2013 plus WAY more aftermarket gen 2 parts out right now.

First thing I would address is the suspension; apparently they are pretty sloppy handlers.

For what's it worth, the 2014 is mostly just a cosmetic refresh; it's still a gen 2.

Going to do a short throw shifter first. Considering springs I drive pretty average handling hasnt been an issue yet.

I comute a whopping 8.4 miles a day to and from work. I'll be fine I did manage about 36 mpg on a 50 mile hiway stretch the other day driving like a granny.
I enjoy the 42 more hp thou.
