It'll be better than it is.
Make sure you do a proper job on the cut end....
By proper job you mean smooth out the cut end and clean off any metal shavings? Yea I was planning to clean the tube inside and out when I was finished

Do it. It's been done before.
As long as you still have the same diameter pipe in the section where the MAF sensor is you should be alright.
I cut mine and can see an improvement.
It'll throw a code right at first but it will go any on its own. Its just learning
