Intercooler promotion going on at MPFab

MPFab is a new vendor here, and we'd like get off to a good start by offering a solid promotion on one of our Sonic parts, currently in production.

We are offering introductory pricing of $649.99 for the first ten people who purchase our intercooler kit. These are top of the line Garrett cores with high quality Garrett cast endtanks that have been specially modified to work with your Sonic. The intercooler flows enough CFM for 475hp, but it's sized appropriately so you don't have to worry about additional lag. In our testing, the boost curve was practically identical to the stock unit.

All charge piping is aluminum, built in house, and held to our high standards for fit and finish. The charge piping is also larger than stock with less bends and shorter lengths for increased flow over the stock rubber pieces, and it won't balloon out like the stock parts do. This sharpens boost response, and is one of the reasons why our kit, with larger intercooler and larger charge piping, spools as well as the factory stuff.

Once we've sold 10 kits, price will return to 749.99 per kit. We expect to have kits ready to ship by the end of September.

Looks like the hard tubes replace the plastic drivers side elbow that houses the IAT2 sensor. I don't believe any other kits now or in the immediate future have that feature. Definitely a selling point.

Peak trq was actually up 19lb/ft and Peak power was up 9hp. Disregard the peak numbers for a min. and look at how much it gained over the whole curve. Trq was up 20-25lb/ft and power was up 12-15 over a large part of the curve. It's an awesome mod!

Ahh thanks for the clarification, the graph was hard to make out on my phone. I did notice the breadth of power your IC setup commanded over stock. Quite an accomplishment to flow so much better without trading off response or low end powwa.

Something I'd like to point out, is that the dyno comparisons posted on the site are of my car with the stk intercooler and hard I/C piping vs. the MPFab unit with hard I/C piping. I've had aluminum charge pipes for months now with the stock intercooler. They are almost identical to the ones in the new intercooler kit. From previous testing, I found that when combined with porting the intake manifold my Sonic gained 11peak whp. So the graphs posted represent the differences in just swapping the intercooler. It would stand to reason that someone swapping the entire stock system in favor of the MPFab system would see much, much larger gains than reflected in the graphs. Potentially 20whp peak!!

I'll go back through my dyno graphs and see when I added the hard pipes. Depending on when it happened, I might be able to get a graph comparing the car with a completely stk intercooler/charge pipes vs. the MPFab kit.

Wow its like christmas without receiving a gift. 3inch dp (andaconda) thats bad ass and i think the first vendor to sell 3inch piping. Would you be able to to buy the dp seperatley? Would it bolt on to stock flex pipe?

Im excited to see another vendor putting more options out there for us sonic geeks. Cant wait to see what other preformance parts come out

Looking at his DP, it has the flex built into it and a flange in a different location than ours do stock. For reference - here's the stock converter / DP / flex next to the one I cobbled together:

With Morgan's Anaconda - you need to buy the whole thing - but you'll be happy you did!

Thats even better. But i saw on their website that it also comes with a cat?
If i buy the cat then that will replace my cutout wich is located where the 2nd cat is. So i only need the dp and flex pipe combo.

It's an all in one deal. The "Anaconda" goes from the turbo to the cat-back, but I could add a cut-out to the system, pre-catalyst, for an additional fee.
BTW, this is a 100cell cat that flows 598cfm @ 28". You will NOT find a higher flowing catalyst!

How much more would it be to get up to the second cat? Cause I already have a test pipe and a cat back exhaust.

Visually= failed inspection.

Exhaust sniffer= might fail, definetely fail a cold start test if they do one.

OBD check= Well after clearing the catalyst fault you've got 60to 200 miles before the light comes on and you fail.

Consider it a racing part with a conscience..
That being said, I doubt it will pass emissions testing. With a couple cheap parts the check engine light is not a problem, even without a tune.
