Do we have heated mirrors?

We have heated mirrors on the LT models, right? The dealer wasn't sure about it when he was showing the car to me. If so, how / when is the heat function activated?

Will be great to know now that winter is coming. Thanks!

We do! The heated mirrors come on with the rear defroster. It's in the owner's manual, which IMO a good salesman would have read already.

Thanks so much Ecohauler. I wasn't sure if it was the rear defroster or the front one (logic would say front, so thank you for clarifying that). I completely agree about the dealer / manual thing, I knew more about the car than he did when I came in to test drive... He kept insisting that the child lock button was in fact the hatch door release button. My attempts to tell him, "Look, it even has a little kid drawn on it", didn't make any difference.

This is interesting, actually. Since the car locks automatically once the driving mode is engaged, why do we need a separate child lock button? Or is it to stop them from jumping out when the car shifts into park?

Without the child lock engaged, the door can still be opened from the inside. You just have to pull the inner handle twice, which a child can easily do. Now, with the child locks engaged, the inner handle is essentially deactivated and cannot be used to open the door no matter how much you tug on it (giggity).

Does the defroster come on automatically, then? I'm not entirely sure this statement is true, because I didn't touch my defroster when I turned on my Sonic Monday morning, but the heated mirrors were definitely active.

I know that the remote start will turn on the heater or AC based on ambient temperature. Maybe the mirrors/defroster are the same?

The rear defrost will automagically turn on when using remote start if the temperature is below a certain point.

(Rear Window Defogger):
Press to heat the mirrors. See “Rear
Window and Outside Mirror
Defogger” under Climate Control
Systems on page 8‐1.

8-3:

Rear Window and Outside
Mirror Defogger
(Rear Window Defogger):
Press to turn the rear window and
outside mirror defogger on or off. An
indicator light comes on to show
that the feature is on.

The rear window defogger turns off Air Vents
after about 10 minutes. It can also
be turned off by pressing 1 again
or by turning the ignition to ACC/
ACCESSORY or LOCK/OFF.
If turned on again it runs for about
five minutes before turning off.
For vehicles with heated outside
rearview mirrors, they turn on with
the rear window defogger and help
to clear fog or frost from the surface
of the mirror. See Heated Mirrors on
page 2‐13.

Finally, regarding remote start,
Page 2-4:

The climate control system will use
the previous settings during a
remote start.The rear defog may
come on during remote start based
on cold ambient conditions. The
rear fog indicator light does not
come on during remote start.

Yes it does

A few of my vehicles had heated mirrors and I love them. So convenient

And to defrost....

I think all LT and up models have them.
I guess you could turn your rear defroster on for 10 minutes or so and then feel to see if the mirror glass is warm.
