Another boost gauge install, new boost tap

Hello again, this is how i did the boost gauge install. Didn't use the green and black, i have fat arms, so i used the brake boost line, bought a new hoes, teed off of it, ran the vac line threw the firewall, drilled a 2" hole in my dash (didn't do the whole, removing the dash thing), and wired the light to the light switch (instead of the cig lighter) using wire tees to the black ground and yellow DRL wire. Shortened a 3 hour job to about 30-45min total...here are some pics. also i did not use that hoes i teed off, it made the gauge bounce a lot, i switched to the small clear one... enjoy! #TeamRS

Going to drill it, think that is the best to achieve near factory look. Next step is to order replacement top tray and fiberglass for 3 more cobalt gauges, water temp, oil pressure and volt.

BTW, I've got my car at the dealership as they try to find that infernal rattling sound coming from the rear....long story short, I've a Malibu rental...it's pretty nice. Has a temp gauge... Sure wish ours had a temp gauge!!!

Yes its free of ducting and wiring, to be sure you just remove the fuse cover and stick your hand up inside and you'll feel the open space. And my wish for a temp gauge will be coming true when I recieve mine this week and do the install with the same method as MPFab..I think its a must

Adding the Autometer trim ring to it almost gives it the perfect OEM look.

Would like to hear the rattle outcome. Mine sounds like loose strut. How about yours.

I just installed that same boost gauge, Does your needle vibrate in it. Mine does just seeing if this is normal

How do you install a gauge here? Do you insert a bracket in the hole for the gauge to mount to? Or is the hole smaller than the gauge and you glue it to the dash or something and just have the hose/wire pass through the hole? Can you use a t-tap connector to wire to the headlight switch? I'm guessing its straight forward running the vacuum hose through a grommet in the firewall?
