potential owner in Las Vegas

This would be my second car. First was a 2000 Pontiac grand am se that I bought off of craigslist for $2000 and it's had all sorts of issues. My wife hates driving it and its been a nightmare. So I'm lookin at gettin a new 2014 chevy sonic lt 1.4t hatch in topaz blue. (Blue because I've been on here and all I seem to see is red and white with a few black and orange. And a hatch because my wife is in massage therapy and that extra drop down seat would do well for a massage table.) I recently found out about the sonic when I was researching for a fuel efficient car with good cargo space. And well I've been set on it since. Not to mention we hav a good hookup at the Henderson chevy dealership. So I ventured to the forum to get a better idea of the community that drives these and what they hav done to em (I'm sure I'll be doing a few modifications here and there.) Oh and I'm most likely going to be making the purchase in the beginning of March.

Welcome to the forum!! The hatch will definitely fit a massage table and blue is an excellent choice. If you can swing the extra $700 get the turbo. Since you have a good relationship with Henderson Chevrolet then maybe you can get the turbo for the same price. I've bought my last 3 new cars from Findlay Chevrolet and I have a great relationship with them!! You won't be disappointed with a Sonic! :banana:

Thanks! I have read your posts on the forum and was hoping u would reply. Btw I see the orange and white hatch I saw u post about drives by my work all the time.
And actually I'm thinkin and if I'm eligible for finance.. Why not jus get an rs? I plan on having it for a long time(around 10yrs.) and how much do you think I could talk em down in price, if at all?

An RS would be great but the fuel efficiency is a few mpg less than an LT or LTZ turbo hatch. Don't get me wrong, the RS is a blast to drive. As far as purchase price, I would offer 10% below sticker and see if they'll go for it. If, I mean when, you decide to get a tune for it, you can borrow my cable. That will save renting or purchasing it. I hope you can find a Topaz Blue RS. I haven't seen one around yet.

I just looked and they hav two rs's and one is topaz blue! And it's going to be auto.. Would the tune help much? I've already researched them but it seems only people with m/t's post about it. And recommendation on octane after the tune? Is 93 worth it?

The tune is more than worth the money and will improve shifting with the automatic!!

I've been running 91 octane since getting the tune. I'm getting slightly better mpg than before the tune. It would probably be better but I get lead-footed sometimes!

DANG IT!!!! If that blue one had been there on Thursday, it would have been mine for sure, I went with Ashen Gray over the red. Oh well I'd be lying if I said I was disappointed.

Ashen grey is my definite 2nd choice though. It'd be great to see it around town! I live in the southwest area and anytime I see another sonic I get all hyped. The wife makes fun of me for it but its coolbeans.

Hello and Welcome

You wont be disappointed in the Sonic. We loved it so much we just picked up another one this weekend. I drive the blue sedan turbo (SC plates up until last week) Its always dirty but that is okay, she's my daily.

We are trying to get a meet up together for next weekend either Feb 21 or 22 at one of the Sonics in town. You should show up anyway even if you don't have your Sonic yet and check out other Sonics.

I have a 1.4L 6MT LTZ in Blue Topaz. I have never received so many compliments about any car of owned. Without a doubt it is mostly because of the color, which is funny because I bought the vehicle sight unseen courtesy of a dealer trade. Blue Topaz wasn't my first choice. I wanted something more in a red color.

I would have seriously considered an RS but all they had in the area were automatics. The turbo engine and the 6MT are a fun combination, albeit I wish shifting was a little smoother.

And Jewel you should definitally let me know when you guys are gonna do the meetup! I work both those days but get off at 5 and the wife has school on the 21st at night. I really would love to go though!
