Quick Build for a Callout

I started a car team a few years back and all of us are v8s (mostly LS powered) and we do a lot of drag racing, going to car shows and just cruising the streets and hanging out. Most of the car people here know of us and know we have some decently fast street cars and we have been getting a lot of attention from other types of cars (non v8) that want to join our little car team. But the way we have been doing letting others join is they have to get along with everybody already on the team and have to beat the slowest of us in their class like v8s vs v8s and v6 vs v6 and so on. So there is this guy with a TC who wants to join but we don't have any 4 cylinders that are FWD. When we were at a birthday party on the the 10th of last month he decided to call out my RS in front of the other members and we have an unspoken rule about if you get challenged you should step up and race them. So after talking it over with the team we decided it would be cool to have some 4 cylinder cars in the crew and the date of our race was set for the 31st. On the day after he challenged me I thought about us being known for some decently fast cars and I'm not talking record breaking fast just a little faster than the average racer in our area. One thing lead to another and before I knew it I had ordered all this stuff for my RS

After I got all that stuff in I thought the engine bay could use some dress up so I decided to add some

oh I didn't post it but I installed everything last Friday before we raced except the motor mounts those came in last night. I have pictures just haven't had time to upload them maybe I will have time this evening

Yeah I don't know the year but its has 2.4 so its an older one. I was worried because he said it was 160 at the fly wheel stock and he had full bolt-ons I was thinking he was probably around 165-175ish to the wheels but I guess I was wrong I'm really surprised how fast this little car is. The 1st time he left on me but I drove around him putting 1.2-2 cars on him. The 2nd time we left even and I put 3 cars on him. The last time I had a perfect launch on the poor guy and when they asked him how close it was he said "it was bus lengths" lol.

So we decided to black chrome my bowties ... still undecided about them I think they are better than the gold but maybe not as good as the black. and the sky today makes them look really purple lol

18" rims is going to slow you down and maybe lose approx 2-4mph. How much they weigh each rim? 22lbs?

yeah maybe but he is on 18s too so its ok... beside I'm not really trying to squeeze every tenth of second out of this car if it runs a 14.9999999 sec pass I will be very happy with my car as the majority of 4 cylinders run high 15s to low 16s here. I would say 22lbs is probably close they feel the same weight as 17s I took off when you pick them up.

I went with WaveTrac for the LSD and am definitely happy with that decision, in case you have not decided on which one you might want. Preloader has posted how to make the install.

What do they weigh? 3,000lbs. The Sonic RS weighs about 2,800 stock. I've got my LTZ down to 2,600. Lighter flywheel. Lighter battery. Lighter coil overs. etc.

yeah a Scion TC. Idk but its mostly gutted. Does the LTZ weight the same as the RS stock? 200 lbs is pretty good weight reduction. I dont think I'm going to commit to any weight reduction other than the ones for looks cuz I have a turbo lancer that I gutted and shaved everything out of. It was a beast but no good to daily so i took it apart and never put it back together besides I have corvette if the racing gets serious.

Clever choice for club affiliation, I write that down....

so I found that the socket I was using for lug nuts was scratching my rims .... so I decided to change to a tuner type lug nut that takes a key and moves the socket away from the rim
