Roof scoop

Wondering if any one is running or thinking about running a roof scoop. Obviously it wouldn't be functional but I think it would look bad a$$.
I searched the forum but it would never load any results.

I get that not every mod is functional - I don't have an issue with that. But, a non-functioning roof scoop is straight rice, transformers or not. Same goes for non-factory non-functional hood scoops.

Well, at least my motor's not a stick-on accessory I can buy at Autozone. Not sure why you're getting all twisted about it. You've openly asked the forum's opinion and I gave mine.

The 1.4T isn't a Daewoo motor, either. You're thinking of something else.

I was mis informed I guess the 1.8 is daewoo and the 1.4t is us from flint mi sry bud didn't mean to ruffle your featers

It's a ram air system for forcing air into something whether it be the air intake system like a Camaro SS or in the case of my STi it forces ambient air through my top mount intercooler. The roof scoop pulls outside air into the cab. When people add them just for looks they do absolutely nothing other than change the look of the vehicle and most cases makes the car look tacky.

Seibon has a hood that's louvered looks pretty good. Maybe a flow through full . Length roof scoop would b good on the sonic.

So unless you are a full blown race car with lightweight windows that don't go down, and no ac system its useless. Unless you want to look like your on fast and furious.

I say that it is your car, go for it. I prefer form following function - but I certainly understand liking the look of something just for its appearance. Personally, I would love a solid CF hood and front fenders that I could fab additional NACA scoops / ductwork to make sure the air filter had a steady supply of fresh air all of the time.

But, of course, I'm not too up on spending thousands of dollars to mod a car that a lot of stock V6 cars can walk.
