OP, you must realize you're going to get a good ribbing for an idea like that here. Don't let it get to you. It's good to see anyone thinking outside of the confines of what everyone else has already done.

I don't necessarily care for this idea, but honestly, when I get a bunch of slack from people about why I shouldn't do something, it typically makes me want to do it even more.

Just be prepared to handle the opinions you're sure to receive, without getting offended. If you start to get offended, then the teeth come out and you'll find your experience on this forum to be unpleasant.

That being said, if you're actually gonna do it, why not do two?

Not saying I like the roof scoop idea but... Maybe a roof scoop can be made to blow the air down below the wing on the hatch. That may actually serve a purpose by blowing the dirt away from the hatch keeping it cleaner. I don't think it would look good but at least it might be functional.

Do what you want...just think it out, maybe make it functional with a hood vent like old subarus or something. If you just stick one on your going to hate it in a couple months :/ and thats not fun.

You could roll like the Mclaren P1 and put the third brake light behind the scoop on the top, that could be cool...or make it low and wide but 'swooped' back and running most of the length of the car.

I would assume that the same type of planning it take to make any 'scoop' look right would have to be taken with a roof scoop. I think it could look good if done right, but you must understand that almost everyone doesnt do it right and it just makes for funny so peeps gonna be skeptical...until you do it right...then everyone will want one!

if you like it, do it! who cares what anyone else thinks if you're having fun. if you dont like it later, take it off, its just a car, paint is erasable and fixable

I had a trailblazer for a while that a tree branch fell on the hood, instead of repairing body work i stuck on some hood scoops from oreily or autozone and the problem was solved. didnt look half bad either
