RS steering programming

So I'm thinking late morning/noon time? Figure once I'm setup, should only take about 10-15 minutes per car. The name of the shop is Ed's Automotive, 85 West Rd. Ellington, CT. If the weather is decent, I plan to go to the range in the afternoon, so I'd like to be done by 2 at the latest.

Anyone who is coming, PM me, and I'll get a list of names going in the first post.

cool, that's what I wanted to hear. hopefully i'll be tuned for the ride down there.

The difference: if while driving you have ever felt the steering to be "darty" this will take that sensation away. I frankly do not know why the RS steering algorithm is not standard.

Although giving a firmer feel it does NOT make steering at slow speed (parking etc.) more difficult.

Looks like at this point we have 3 definites and one possible, so less than $20 a piece. Shop owner drinks Bud Light, but if anyone has Yeungling in their area, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

I'm following this interesting thread. I'm up in Mass, but not ready to do anything "yet". I'll be interested in hearing how the people that do it feel about it. Comparing the "Before and After".

Looks like I won't have to buy beer for a while. If you guys can each try and find an RS VIN number, it would be helpful. I have the one that I used last year, and I can't see any reason that it wouldn't work for everyone, but it would be good to have a back up.

I figure if I start on the first car around 11, should have everyones steering (and Trev's tune) done quick enough to grab some lunch down the road too. Look forward to meeting everyone on Saturday.

Plenty on AutoTrader. I saved 8 just to be on the safe side, so we have some extras if need be. :banana:

Yep. Already have the software on here, so should just need your tune file from email. No big deal.

got the rs calibration done on my sonic and the steering feels much more stable at speed. before, if I had one hand on the wheel and I hit a decent bump, the stering wheel would move a bit because my arm moved. now after the rs calibration, the wheel is firmer and doesn't give as easily as before, but it is still easy to turn at any time. I agree with laborsmith, this should be standard on all the sonic models.

Thanks again for the work today! The car felt a lot less twitchy on the way back, even when the wind kicked up.

I'll repost this here.

Definitely feel a difference at highway speeds on the turns and clover leafs. At 1st it didn't seem like much of a difference, till we put my car next to Ben416s unprogrammed sonic. On the ride home I noticed it took quite a bit more effort to drive with 1 or 2 fingers.
