Intercooler sprayer for 5 bucks

Wanted to update everyone on this mod, I tested it this weekend for a two day autoX event... Worked flawlessly, kept everything nice and cool, I recommend everyone buying a turbo blanket! Holy crap these things keep the bay wayyyy to hot! Took 1st in both classes I can run my car in... Out of 8 cars... Haha, needless to say, body roll is an issue! Happy racing

Awesome thread. Ive been wanting to do this for a while and seeing this motivated me.

I was bored at work yesterday and made a bar sprayer. (kind of)


It is going to attach to the bar behind the ever so loved mustache and hang upside down. All you'll see is the blue nozzles hanging down.




Used irrigation misters from lowes.
It works surprisingly well.


Made a loop to test it.
Even pressure on all three nozzles.

Mine is so prehistoric compared to this, I installed a throttle body temp sensor to test this, and I get 64-69* instead of the 79-94* without spray

This is interesting I'm assuming there is a motor for each sprayer. I'm betting you could pick up a extra motor tap into the reservoir and make a separate sprayer with a switch inside the car. I like my rear sprayer and wiper lol.

Read the first post again and apparently it's one motor with two hoses running off it.

I'm betting you could find a electric t valve setup on a switch so that you could retain the rear / front sprayer (depending on which you wanted to 2 off) as well.

A t fitting would be nice to retain rear washer functions. I don't know how you guys go without the rear wiper or washer. I use them both on a daily basis. But I also drive a lot. And I did notice that the rear window gets dirtier after I installed my factory splash guards

The co2 setup is cool, and they also just have a standalone water sprayer like we were talking about for $100. It includes a resivor too.

Here is my plan.

7/32 3 way valve solenoid with a 12v switch and a closed relay for the rear wiper motor.

I'll use the 3 way valve off the rear wiper hose and run another hose up to the Intercooler and make a sprayer there.

Then locate the switch inside and cut the wire. To the rear wiper and put in the closed relay hooked to switch.

In theory when I flip the switch to on the solenoid will switch the valve from the rear to the ic sprayer. The 12v power signal will open the relay breaking the motor signal so that the rear wiper won't move. When I push the wiper lever forward I'll get Intercooler spray. If I pull back it will still spray the front windows.

When I flip the switch to off the rear wiper sprayer will work and spray.

I lose no functionality of either sprayer.

Shouldn't be too expensive if I can find the right 3 way valve solenoid.

I'll be looking at parts soon and let you know how it turns out when / if I get around to it.

Why not simply add an additional washer pump and a pressure switch to activate it at a set boost psi?

Are you sure? Is there not a nozzle under the spoiler?

Have you tried pushing the wiper stalk forward?

I dont think so i took the spoiler off a while back didnt notice anything let me go check.

So maybe this is a stupid question but when is the most effective time to spray the intercooler for cooling purposes? After a pull? Before a pull or during? And for how long???? So confused!

Before, you'll be too busy during the run and the airflow will do fine on its own.

Thanks, and I know that most tracks wont let you use it because of moisture on the track. Can anyone vouvh for that? Definitely doing this BTW!
