Getting ready to install an Alpine Power Pack (KTP-445U) into my Sonic with Mylink.
1. How much lead do I need to mount the PP behind the air con controls. The amp came with about a 2 foot lead on the output end. Is that enough?
2. Can I grab power off of the factory harness (yellow wire)? Is the circuit capable of running both the head unit and the amp? (I have a feeling this is a dumb question but wanted to ask anyway)
Note: I also bought a PAC AA-GM44 just to use the harness. I didn't want to cut into the factory harness, so I bought the PAC so I can wire everything on my desk and plug it all into the factory harness. I plan on just cutting the LOC off since it's redundant.
3. Do you think I'm being too anal? (That was a trick question, please don't answer)
Never expected a response THAT quick. Good to know you have a special hotline. I'll try not abuse it.
Yeah, the input side is going to need some extending. I s'pose they have a good reason for making it so short.
Heading for my local radio shack to buy wire and stuff. Haven't done anything like this since I was a kid -- a very long time ago. Should be fun.
Thanks again!
What color are your rims? Is it that "intense teal" plasti dip?

The passenger side just pops off. Just needed to give it a determined pull on the shifter side of the panel. Once that end is released then you slide it toward the passenger seat and a tab thingy is released at the top and voila -- off comes the panel.
Seems there's all kinds of space behind the panel. Glad the panel comes of so easy so I can adjust gain on the amp after installation.
