And that's all that matters.
However, I drive a little on the fast side and still burp out 40MPG without trying while you manage 35.6 driving conservatively.
What's that tell ya?
Comparing the 1.8 to a 1.4T I'm curious what pros the 1.8 has and what cons the 1.4T has? I'm not asking this for a debate, we've already been there, I'm seriously wondering what pros the 1.8 has over a 1.4T?
1.8 sonic can run in B spec.
I also think it's better classed in autocross. (I think the turbo is in stc?)
But none of that matters for the average buyer.
We could get into other topics like reliability.
In witch case I think both engine are fairly reliable, but I tend to notice more 1.4 problems then 1.8. But that is just from observing the forum, so I take it with a grain of salt. What are the real world figures, I have no clue.
A basic sonic with the 1.8 makes a basic car.
Nothing fancy, just works. Witch is what I think the average consumer wants. People who know nothing about car nor care to know more then likely don't care if it has a turbo or not.
Example: if Grandma's buying a new car to drive to the store once a week. I will highly doubt she will care if it's a turbo. ( my grandma was actually looking at a ss haha, but you get my point)
I don't want to start a huge debate over this again. It's pointless. Nobody will win.
This is my option of the subject
I have a Ls sonic because I got it for a heck of a price. If I would have ordered a lt sonic I more then likely would have opted for the turbo.
I have 48k miles on mine and have loved every minute of it. So much so that my wife wants a sonic too.
