I sort of want a 29'er but cannot justify getting rid of my 26'er for it. To get a 29er with equal or better components and what not, I'd have to spend about $3200 and, in essence, just to go from 26'er to a 29'er for that kind of money is not justifiable to me.

I've rebuilt most of my bike now and couldn't let it go just like that.

Depends on how you go about it. I'll have about $1800 into this build when I'm done.
It all depends on what you want and how long you're willing to wait.

Must be a damn cheap motorcycle, my Raptor 660 was just under $8K after taxes in 2004.

Never paid more then 3k for a motorcycle.

That was for my wife's 1100 shadow.

Used of Course. But it was under 20k miles and all original.
