Not saying it's impossible. Just a really bad idea to do it in a stock block.

" just trade for a 1.4T "
The cost of prototyping and building a 'reliable' 1.8 turbo could potentially be far more than the depreciation of the vehicle and the cost of upgrading a 1.4t.
No offense but before everyone start saying " just trade for a 1.4T " stop. I'm about fixing up cars.
I don't know a lot about cars.
I cant decide on which route to take definitely want more power although modding a 1.8 is apparently not worth it... so either trade in for 1.4t or engine swap 1.4t... but now its not worth it because 1.4t might not be able to handle power increase?? i'm conflicted, is it even worth the trouble?
Get a 2.0t engine and do the swap lol.
i love my 1.8 lol
What about this engine in a Sonic? 2.4l ecotec
Chevrolet - Canada - Orlando
The automatic transmission is the same as the 1.4t autos so it should be a direct bolt in on the tranny side. Oh and if you want a big brake kit, the Orlando's have 5x105 but use a 11.8in in front and 11.5in in rear vs our 10.8in rotors so maybe the calipers might work.
