Proud owner of a New 2014 Hatchback Manual LT Turbo

Hey everyone! This is my first new car and with all the preparation and planning that was required to make my purchase complete I want to learn all I can to keep loving this car even after the brand new love fades. On July 30th I was officially united with my Cool Blue 2014 Hatchback Manual LT Turbo with the Sun and Fun package. My first car was an 80 something Volkswagen Jetta 5-speed and I have been dying to get back into a manual ever since. I spent a long time researching cars and 3 days into owning my Sonic I am completely satisfied. I do have a few questions that I'm sure I can find the answers to within this forum. Can't wait to see everyone's Sonics and learn from all of you!

Well you got the stick and the turbo, so it looks like you did the research What is in the Sun and Fun package?

GumbiRock, welcome. I have a similar background as you. My prior manual transmission car was a 1988 VW Jetta and I always wanted to get back to driving a stick. So I bought a 2013 Sonic LTZ 1.4L 6MT. I hope you enjoy your Sonic as much as I enjoy mine!

Oh, I will say it's kind of weird and cool that after not driving a stick for over 20 years I get drive on without missing a beat. It's like once I hold on to a stick shift my feet know exactly what to do!

Sun and Fun is the sunroof-and-turbo package Chevy has been putting on LT hatchbacks this year, and there are quite a lot of them out there with sticks, in contrast to the sedan which is almost impossible to find with a manual at least in the Midwest. There's also a turbo+sunroof+16-inch-wheels+Dragon Green paint package on the sedan called the "spring promotional package," but I couldn't find that with the rearview camera, so I ended up looking at a more standard LT turbo auto sedan, no sunroof and wheel upgrade but all the safety features and the Bluetooth and satellite radio goodness. I really wanted the hatch at first, but it wasn't long enough for my skis and while my insurer gave me an unbelievably low quote for the sedan, barely more than my 12 year old trade-in, they were going to charge me 35 percent more for the hatch.
