Tank Miles

My last fill up was around 375 miles to empty and my avg mpg was just a little over 40. I'm sitting a a half tank and around 220 miles to empty. First fill was 242 second was 314.

The last time I filled up, it said I had about 60 miles left and had averaged about 33.2 mpg. I put 12.575 gallons of gas into a 12.2 gallon tank, yes I filled it to the top of the filler neck.

Best mileage 4 me was 41.7 on the frwy to Laughlin, NV. When they say a car gets 40mpg that all depends how fast your going and if your on cruise, the temp, if the road is straight n flat. I use my cruise all the time for measure. Not bad for @ '13 LT Hatch, 1.8, a/t, music on rock, and a nice passenger...

I get 320-350 miles to a tank, usually fill it up when theres 30ish miles left on the gauge. 90% city driving, i have a '12 1.8L 5M hatch. Drive pretty chill most of the time, shifting at 2000, every few days il do a WOT run though.

Not a good idea to top off the tank. Not only do you need room in the gas tank for fumes and gasoline expansion, but you are also risking flooding the charcoal canister that's connected to the filler neck.

There is NO point to topping off. Going an extra 5-10 miles (if that) isn't worth it. It's not like you're saving any money by topping off.

I've become a fan of calculating Cost Per Mile instead of Miles per Gallon and Miles per Tank. Cost Per Mile is something I can use on all my vehicles if I want to figure out how much it's going to cost me to go on a trip or figure out how much driving I can do on a set amount of money.

Of course that's about 60% city driving, 39.9 mpg avg, driving about 120-150 miles per day. Driving 1.4l 6speed. When I went to the beach last year (~3hr drive one way) I averaged 58.7 round trip and driving while down there....

Man, I wish I was getting some of the numbers you guys do. I'm lucky to get 275 from a full tank. Bone stock '12 LT 1.4t6m.

Not really complaining though, my jeep and cadillac both get single digits, but one's a built small block on 38" tires and the other is a big block land barge

I just had a 465 Mile run. Pretty happy with that as I'm in Phoenix, AZ and the AC is literally on ALL of the time , Day and Night. 1.4T Automatic
