From ltz to LTZ

The car was bought June 28th

Already installed a few mods but I'll bring everyone up to speed.

First thing I did was install a set of NRG pedal covers.

Next I ordered the CAI and shifter bushings from DDMW.

Here in Pa we aren't required to have a front license plate and that cheap piece of plastic is an eye sore so one afternoon I drilled a 1/4 " bit through the rivets and ripped it off. Then went to my local ACE store and picked up some 1/4" plugs to fill the holes.

After that I personally installed the short shifter from DDMW as well as the shifter weight which followed a few days after that.

Side note: I'd recommend putting loc-tite on the bolts of the shifter weight before installing. Recently I opened the hood to find the bolt was completely out of the short shifter assembly. To my surprise the bolt wasn't lost and was still on top of the engine block, I will be putting loc-tite on it to prevent further incidences.

I'm very scientifically oriented and as I was browsing through some threads I came across a neat device with some readouts on it. After further investigation found out this device is called an ultra-gague and ordered one right away.

Next and easiest mod by far was the removal of the snorkel, wasn't only free it wasn't hard either.

Today my TTR Engine Mounts arrived !!!

I have the supplies to do the "bypass the bypass" and I'll try to do that today while the cars on a lift for the mounts at my buddies garage. I didn't want to risk breaking the nozzle on the manifold from the small passenger side work area. Hopefully today I'll have a better look at the manifold from a different angle and I'll be able to complete the mod.

Looks like you are making good progress! For the bypass mod you could also remove the IM to get even better access and do the other free mod of porting it

TTR Upper and Lower mounts installed ! Everyone was right it does feel like a nascar rumbling and it's awesome. Used nylon spacers under the DDM CAI heat shield to level it off.

Since that install was so quick my friend helped me to do the bypass mod.

The manifold green stripped hosing was much eaiser to access once the car was on the lift but as for the rest of the hoses they were very difficult to wiggle off.

I ended up using the 2nd technique of the bypass mod by just capping the green stripped hose, and seleniod & seleniod hose, then running a new 1/8" vacuum hose from the manifold to the BOV.

Side note:
I did a test run to see if my psi was different from my previous runs and oddly my results were lower ---14.5psi and 95 mass airflow g/s @ 5k rpm in 4th gear. Given last run before the mounts and bypass I was getting 16.5psi and 107 MAF g/s @ 5.5k rpm in 3rd & 4th gear and I haven't done too many of them to get a good idea of what my range is with the given mods. Also it was very humid today and temps were lower than my original runs.

So you're not tuned, correct? Those boost numbers seem awfully high for a stock tune, it's pretty unusual for someone to see in the 13.x range but pretty unheard of to see up into the 16's. Did you buy it new?

Correct, not tuned yet. I bought it used with 22k miles on it, it appeared bone stock to me. I mean I can hit 12 psi all day long without hardly getting above 4k rpm once I get into the powerband the psi was hitting 14-16. I noticed with the bypass mods that after shifting the left over boost from the previous gear makes the rpms jump about 1-1.5k depending on how much throttle is engaged. I think this is what they were talking about in the thread about driving more like a real standard would with this mod. I must say I love it. It adds a new aspect to the driving experience.

Glad to hear you like it I am untuned and only hitting 12 psi, rarely 13 but thats it.

As for the pictures, how are you trying to upload them? Did you upload your pics to imgur/phoobucket then add the link of the pick with the insert image button?

Made some runs today on a country road straight away and filmed my ultra gauge to record my progress from mod to mod. (Sorry about the music selection wasn't paying attention, too focused on the adrenaline rush )
