DIY: Home Depot Side Splitters

Below is the link that I used for inspiration. Its for a corvette but i figure if its good enough for those guys its good enough for us. Put some finished pictures up as well. The only thing im debating is whether or not I should paint them black to match my lip. Install and fab were very easy and it only took me about 1 hr from start to finish. Would have gone faster with 2 bodies i imagine too. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions feel free! :banana:

Are you reffering to the extra white sideskirt in your pics? But you have an RS with sideskirts already.
How did you attach them?

I'll be frank. I think DIY mods and such have their place. I've owned two modified trail rigs and have done my share of home body mods, fender mods, sheetmetal mods, etc. But, I don't think they have their place on a car. It's not functional, and upon closer inspection once can usually tell that it's a DYI mod. Makes the car look cheap. When I cheap car is made to look cheaper, it's basically rice.

But that's just me. Folks here know my opinions on such things.

That's weird, mine went right to the pictures without asking to update anything. Anyway here is the link to the product that i used. You need 2 pieces because our sides are 5'10" between wheel wells. Comes out to about 35 bucks. The prefinished white matches Summit White perfectly, i mean perfectly but im not sure how paint would hold up as i havent painted mine yet.

When putting them on they are about 6 inches wide so you need to cut out spaces for your jack points with a jigsaw. The vinyl is very easy to cut. I mouted them with body screws from auto zone to the bottom of my RS skirts so im not sure how it would work for the LT or LTZ guys.

As far as looking rice...? I have seen similiar formats (made of CF) on 370's, FRS's and many other imports as well as vettes. I guess if i was so critical of DIY modifications i wouldn't be trolling that portion of the forum though.

Don't know if that'd work with an LT-LTZ since we've no skirting... could be taped.

I wonder, does it bend enough to follow the curve of the rear spoiler? There's some interesting ideas there too...

Wrap it in cf
