Chevrolet Performance announces the Performance Dual Mass Clutch Upgrade Kit for 2012–2014 Sonics.
And 2012 Cruzes built before May 22, 2012.

Developed by Chevrolet Performance engineers, this kit has been designed to be used with the 2012–2014 Sonic, and some 2012 Cruze vehicles.

The Sonic Performance Clutch has an 11% torque capacity increase over the production 2012-2014 Sonic Clutch. Rated torque capacity with a designed in factor of safety is 168 lb-ft of torque.

It is a larger diameter than the stock Sonic clutch, I don't have all the specs right now but if I can get them I will post them up.

Hmm I'm interested in some more info on this. I wonder if the new flywheel is lighter. It's definitely a much more value oriented option than the other clutch upgrades available.

It is a larger diameter than the stock Sonic clutch, I don't have all the specs right now but if I can get them I will post them up.

In 2014, GM started using a 228mm diameter clutch setup; prior to that, it was 216mm in diameter.

I think this kit is just the updated 2014 parts, as I remember the GMPP engine upgrades mention the larger 2014 clutch is necessary to retain powertrain warranty.

The kit comes with everything pictured here:

Included in the kit are:
larger diameter flywheel
larger diameter pressure plate
larger diameter disc.
pressure plate mounting bolts
flywheel mounting bolts

I am still working on getting the exact specs but I can tell you that the factory clutch was not designed to handle any additional torque or hp other than the factory setup.

This clutch is designed to handle more hp and more torque. Once I have those official numbers I will post them up.

To the question is it lighter? No this will not be any lighter than the stock clutch.

Well thanks. I only ask cause it seemed to me like 225 for everything seemed pretty cheap. The larger flywheel wont cause any issues with the starter/starter location? Dont laugh at my dumb question, i just have no idea haha. Also, can i buy this and bring it with me to my dealer and they will install it for me? Or no

These are official gm parts, the dealership might charge you an arm and leg but they will install it

I've had a stage 4 with flywheel sitting in a box for a year or so now that I've never gotten around to installing because the hobby shop at the local base closed. No more access to a lift

I think this is what I'm probably going to do when and if I burn out my stock 2012 clutch prematurely.

I'm kind of hoping someone else with quite a bit of power installs one so we can see what kind of power they can handle.

I hate the stock boat anchor flywheel but aftermarket options are more greenbacks than I'm willing to part with.

You are right, I bought this clutch and measured it its outer diameter is ~9inch which is 228.6mm and its inner is ~6inch which is 152.4mm so it is the newer clutch. Do you have information about the 2014 clutches?
