Anyone have an 06 or up Impala?

How many car seats will you have? That's going to be the biggest factor, the next factor would be the trunk. Fitting everything that you could need in the trunk will be key since the back seat will be full. I would recommend test fitting everything you might need at one time before deciding on the Impalla.

Gonna be 2 car seats and a booster. Trying to decide now if I want to find a 4 door truck and keep the Sonic, or stay with the smaller truck and get a bigger car. Drove a few Impala SS's a while back, just don't really remember ever paying attention to how much room was in the back seat.
That must have been quite a feat getting three car seats in the back of a Sonic! I have 2 back there now and there's not a whole lotta room in between them.

I got my sonic and my wife drives a crew cab Silverado and I also just picked up a extended cab sierra that way I can fit car seats better

I have a 2011 Impala car provided to me for my business travel.
The Impala is over 5" wider than the Sonic - and that translates into 5 extra inches in both the front and the back seat area.
The trunk is cavernous - I frequently carry a wide assortment of sales literature, demo product and actual product for delivery to my customers.
The fuel mileage (3.5L V6) is very good. I average about 30 MPG overall in my sales travels. I usually drive about 1000 miles per week, some Interstate, some 2 lane highways and then driving around in the towns while I'm making sales calls.
Currently have 118,000 miles on this one. Very reliable.

I had an 06 impala with three car seats in the back its not fun or easy getting three kids under 5 in and out of their seats was a serious chore. Plus once they get a little bit older they start talking and hitting each other. Suck it up get a minivan.
On a kind of tangent, a 1963 chevy impala with 11 miles on it sold in 2013 will be visiting Fagan automotive in Janesville wisconsin, the car was made in the now shuttered janesville plant. Maybe not that exciting to people outside the area but it made the front page yesterday.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about driving a minivan - they are awesome at being functional.
Alright, how about this? Look into Mazda 5. It's a basically a minivan but it handles better is a little smaller (only a little) and has the minivan goodies like sliding doors for easy access to get the kids in.
You can also find many Mazda 5's with a manual trans, if that's what you like. If I had to do a minivan and wanted to keep some semblance of fun, I'd go with a Mazda 5.
