I wish that I could post" I opened my hood and they accidentally stuck an experimental 2.0l twin turbo in my car". It sounds a lot better than" They stuck the Sonic emblem on crooked on the trunk lid".
They did that on my car. I opened the hood and there it was, a stock 300 hp motor. I said that's to much and took it back.

Yeah, right. I have never heard of anyone complaining about too much power.
Factory problems
The first time I replaced my 2013 Sonic cabin air filter myself, I had noticed that every weld joint visible with my flashlight , inside the dash, was already rusted. After the metal supports are welded you would think something could have been applied to them!

Are you sure it was not a rust colored protective coating that they applied to prevent rusting?
Alrighty so after reading this forum for a bit I finally had the guts to remove my black tape on my 2013 Sonic Sedan and boy does it look awesome. For those of us who dont know how to remove the tape heres a "how to".
First off what you need:
A kickin heat gun
Goo Gone
Tweezers or needle nose pliers (the smaller the better)
Some patience
And lastly some dang good music.
1) Turn on the music (your going to need it lol)
2) I started with the drivers side front. So take your heat gun, turn it on let it preheat up
3) take the heat gun to the inner door edge where the tape begins and lightly wave the gun over it being careful not to over heat it
4) Now you should have a corner starting to peel up a bit. Grab it with your hands and start pulling
5) as you go you will have to stop to heat the door edge up for the section that you are peeling back on. If you dont it will make life a living heck. (trust me I tried it lol)
6) This is the tricky part. The tape does go under the weather stripping on our cars. But I found the trick. Heat the area up on the outside of the window. Once you get it nice and warm take your device of destruction or better known as tweezers or pliers and pull gently. (this is the part where you will need patience.)
7) So after all the tape is off take a paper towel and put a tiny dap of goo gone on it and wipe off the glue (if there is any)
So if you repeat this for all four doors you should end up with a nice shiny black door edge!

Bravo! I'm glad someone else was willing to make their Sonic look more attractive.
I didn't need a heat gun though. Just used my fingernails and pulled it off in big sections and was able to have it looking clean in a matter of minutes. Any little bits left I was able to pick away with my nails.

It's really easy to do. There is a "quote" button in the bottom right of the post you're replying to. That way, we can all see who in the hell you're ranting on about. If you don't want us to know, then take it to a PM.
Man, there seems to be a bit of feelings getting hurt here lately. It is possible to have a good amount of banter, debate, and back and forth without getting your panties in a wad. (Champ and I have been doing it for 3 days now.) Guys, it's a car forum, and a forum for a cheap car at that. Don't get too worked up about it.

I picked up my sonic in May 2015 (less than 2 months ago), and have had the following happen:
-There were fine scratches on the back bumper when I picked it up. I noticed over the first weekend, and the dealer buffed on the Monday.
-After driving the first day, I parked in my driveway and noticed that the black seals on the right side of the roof had popped out a bit (about half of it). I pushed it back in and have been keeping an eye on it since.
-I currently have a chirping noise coming from the AC I believe. Around 5 seconds after I turn the vehicle off after driving when the AC is on, there is a chirping noise. It does not occur if the AC is off when I turn off the car. I will be calling the dealership tomorrow to see when they can take it in.
Other than that, it's been a great car - I already have 5,600 km on it.
