Known Piston Ring Failure

If you take the intake tubing off the turbo inlet and see

you may have a cracked ring

I've noticed this for a while now. No performance issues...yet.

did it look like that all the time or did you take the pic when the damage was done. ill see what video or pic i can find to show you guys what i see. i also have oil there.....but not as extreme as that pic.

so this is how mines looks like. took it to the dealer and they told me i had to change my oil more often like every 3-4k. they said the oil that was under the turbo was old dirty oil residue due to me not changing the oil often. they also updated the ECM.

Find a new dealer that isnt full of BS and lies.

Well I guess I might need a new piston myself. Getting oil through that pcv line further down through the charge pipes into the throttle body.

Is it as bad as that? Do a compression test, one of the cylinders will be low if it's the piston

I even heard a sound kinda like a distant siren coming from the passenger side of the motor.

Uh oh! I get that every now and then when parked after turning off the motor. Totally unsure what it was from. Happens at idle too.

Get a compression tester
remove coil packs from head
Disconnect fuel injector electrical connector
Remove all spark plugs
plug in compression tester to a spark plug hole
turn key for a few seconds to rotate crank
check pressure level stored in compression tester tool
bleed tester by pressing release button
repeat for every cylinder.
Record compression readings, they should all match or be close to each other.
It's quite simple and might only take 15 minutes total

Thanks, just the info I'm looking for.

I'm wondering though What happens to all the fuel being injected into the cylinders when you crank if the plugs are not there to burn it?

It gets pushed out the easiest hole to go. That's either the spark plug hole or the exhaust.
