Maintenance care prices...

Information geared towards 1.4t/6mt.

I have noticed that some of the owners manuals vary depending on the year of the sonic. For instance, for my 2012, it does not mention changing the transmission fluid in the 6mt and the spark plugs are over 100k. In the 2014 manual, in severe driving conditions, it has a 45k transmission fluid change and 60k spark plug change. I'm at the 60k mile mark and would actually like to have both services done, since I am also going to get new brake pads, e-brake adjusted, etc...(would rather just have everything done at once to avoid multiple trips to the dealer). I've been priced anywhere from $189 to $215 for just the transmission fluid change! This seems like they are just giving me a number (multiple dealers had to make phone calls to get pricing information) so I feel like I am the first one in my area to have this service done.

What are y'all paying for with these services and where are you having the services completed at (dealer vs independent mechanic, etc...)?

Not yet. I was going to research what the best fluid would be for the change and stuff before I start calling around today. I'd rather have the dealer do it because of all the issues people have had with the 6mt. I don't want them to come back and not warranty something as expensive as a transmission swap.
