TRS D2S headlight retrofit build

Here are some shots of another retrofit build I'm doing for JINKO6.7.

This kit started out with aftermarket headlamps as the donors.

This is the BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (D2S). The quality of these products are simple outstanding. We will be hooking up a pair of Blue SMD LEDs in each projector for a demon eye effect and controlling it with a RF remote w/ dynamic modes to keep all the wiring inside the engine bay. I've seen the RGB color changing LEDs before but never with a phone controller. Sounds pretty cool.

Dremel and cut off wheel has worked well for me. You'll need to re-seal with silicon. I tried baking one on my first retrofit and it damaged the seal somewhere and leaked. I scrapped it and have been cutting them off since.

With the aftermarket assembly's, do they also need to be cut, or can you bake and separate the two halves?

I did not test that out. The seal feels "gummier" than an oem headlamp but wasn't about to ruin this set. I know what's worked for me in the past.

I could be wrong, but...the alignment of the projector in pics #4 & #5 look WAY off....was this later corrected or was this just a test fitting and not permanently glued in like that?

It was just a test fit to see what the shrouds would look like inside of the smoked housing. I assume it has since been corrected.

Exactly those first pics the projector is aligned correctly but the shroud would snap into place due to the size. I needed to cut out the stock halogen bowl to allow the shroud to be attached. Here are some more complete pics. Sealing them back up today.

Sometimes things just don't fit like they are meant to be. Had to modify and extend the stock back cap 0.75" to cover the large D2S bulb connection. The devil is always in the details.

I finally was able to get my retrofitted headlights into my Sonic tonight. I will have pictures to follow up soon. I am not sure if I need a higher watt ballast or what because the light output just does not seem to be as intense as I thought it would be.
