HELP i wana go fast

I'm looking for a 1.4 guru to help me figure out what set up to go with on my sonic rs! Wanting to keep it some what quiet. There is just so many different ways to go like the anaconda pipe or the zzp, short ram or cai. I just want to get the best bang for my buck.
I was thinking a zzp down pipe ddm mid with high flow cat and the Borla touring catback to keep it quiet with a zzp intake with a hp tune. not sure if a blow off valve is worth it or not.
I seen ddm has a garrett turbo upgrade for the sonic but didn't want to do all that.
I would love to make 225hp just not sure if its possible.

MPfab makes the best parts. They're so good that you never see them for sale in the classifieds. Buy everything they make, then purchase the trifecta tune. You'll also want to port your intake manifold, do the turbo bypass as well.

Don't forget to also purchase a wavetrac limited slip diff. Without one you'll just be doing one wheel smoke shows... Install is very easy. I'd probably get this part first since power does you zero good without traction.

For suspension, all you really need to get is the ZZP rear sway bar. It's better than the DDM because the two are about equal, but the ZZP does not require drilling.

The only wheels worth buying are the cruze eco wheels. They are forged, they're cheap, they're wider, and they shave about 20lbs of unsprung, rotating mass from the vehicle. Anything else is for looks, and does not improve performance.

You didn't mention budget though. I'm guessing it's unlimited.

The stock cat back will bolt onto it with the provided adapter. The exit from the turbo is 3" and so is the Anaconda. Would probably be too loud for your taste with 3" all the way back but with the stock RS exhaust you'll probably like it.

if you want to save a buck or two just order the entire exhaust from ZZP and have them add their 24 in rez in there with no cats(if you're able to) and their muffler.

If you have a bunch of doe laying around you best get mpfab :banana:


Also, anything to replace factory crap BOV is better. I mean you choose Metal or plastic

You would actually be best to grab the anaconda. I said screw ZZP and said hello MPfab and I will say even without getting dialed in for the anaconda you will notice an immediate gain in power. It's enough to lift the front end up on stock non-RS suspension when cruising at highway speeds when you decide to pass people. This is from personal experience. So yes it does add more power since it's more free flowing and allows room for the eventual turbo upgrade. Anything MPfab Is amazing for this car.

With the provided adapter, you can bolt it to the stock exhaust. With that combo,it has "stock" noise levels, but with a cool turbo whirring kinda sound. I had it that way on my car for several months and REALLY liked it.
There are mixed opinions regarding the BOV. I ran the stock one, and suggest people stay with. Yes, it is plastic, but it's absolutely fool proof, and works flawlessly. The Forge piece is very high quality and gorgeous to look at, but some have mentioned the o-ring failing and causing leaks. I ran the stock one up to 28psi several times and 24psi on the daily without issue. If you buy anyone's open element intake kit you will get that cool "whooopisshh!" without having to purchase another valve.

If you want a bit more sound and has that nice deep tone you could get one of the first gen ZZP catback's that will bolt right onto the anaconda with the supplied adapter piece. Just make sure you run with the muffler or you might not like how loud it will be. Also a few tips. Get the heavy duty clamp or you will regret it. It holds the weight of the downpipe and give a better no leak seal so you don't have race gas like smells coming into the cabin and because it does have a quick release it makes removing it down the road easier for when you have to go in for emissions checks or if you need to swap the turbo. Just make sure when you put it in to loosen the oil feed line so it goes on. It's also cupped so it will slip right in and will make an audible sound when it's secure and just get the clamp latched and your set to go. Before loosening the oil feed line, make sure to mark it with a white line so when you tighten is back up, you'll be able to get it lined back up again so you don't have to worry about issues down the road.

Do not waste your money on a blow off valve. All it does is makes more noise. It's also the first thing you'll get sick of. Don't go too crazy on the exhaust either. Noise doesn't equal power, and you'll look goofy making a ton of noise and not going fast. The smartest thing to do is to get the anaconda, keep the stock exhaust, and install a motor operated exhaust cut out just after the anaconda. That way you'll get the ridiculous power and noise when you want it without alerting the police of your whereabouts.

The thing is though the stock exhaust will end up being a major bottle neck once the new upgraded turbo kit goes in and you are pushing 275+ to the wheels since that will be added back pressure to the already free flowing exhaust from the down pipe to the mid pipe. That's also why I said to use a muffler. I know some areas in Wisconsin that will pull you over just about anything that you can think of and especially in Waunakee or DeForest. Even if you are going the speed limit they will pull you over on suspicion or if they think you are "too loud". but it really is up to personal preference especially this early in the sonic's life time.
