Ok, guys/gals, I've had my 2014 Sonic Dusk Edition now for 6 months and wanted to give an update to owning it. I have been fortunate to own a lot of cars and trucks in my past (too many to mention them all) as well as 4 Covettes (including a C6 Z06). So far I have about 8k miles on it and it has been to it's first scheduled service visit. I have to admit that I really love driving the car. It is a blast to drive. I have been on one long road trip with it. Here is some observations that I have noticed as the car mileage climbed to where it is now. First thing I noticed was swaying in the wind at freeway speeds. Not a real problem to me since I had briefly owned a smart car and really experienced wind buffeting like you have never known. I'm ok with it but was surprised to see that the car experienced it with the larger tires that the Dusk Edition has. Second thing that has just currently developed and I will be telling the dealer shop about it, when the AT warms up it develops a real noticeable whine (much like a power steering pump will whine when low on fluid) when you are creeping around or slowly accelerating. Once up above 20mph you don't hear it anymore. I assume it is not the power steering since I hear this car has electric power steering plus the whine does not change when the wheels are turned which usually does if it was low power steering fluid. Third thing that has just showed up is when you first start the car and move forward I hear a distinctive scrapping noise from the front like a spoiler briefly dragging for a sec. and then it is gone. It does not happen again until you kill the car and start moving forward again. I have looked under the car but there is nothing to be seen or any scrapping of any kind. It just sounds that way. Fourth item, which I can probably take care of myself occurred after they installed the subwoofer in the trunk. Now the rear deck vibrates with the least rough road or music. I assume that I need to put some felt or something between the plastic deck lid and metal frame. Fifth item is that sometimes when stopped at a stoplight I can feel the transmission lurching trying to move forward. It doesn't do it all the time but I think I can live with that unless that and the whining at slow speeds is a sign of bad news coming. Anyway, sorry so long a post but wanted to give an update of my life so far with the car. Anyone else seen these issues?
