I originally ordered a Victory Red LTZ turbo hatch w/sunroof on September 3rd. After it sat at 1102 for the better part of a month, I decided I'd really rather have cloth seats again (crazy, right?) so I switched my order down to an LT turbo, first in Silver Ice Metallic, then back in red.

Finally, after seeing a bunch of pictures and videos of the hatch in white, I decided that was the way to go. So, as of September 28th, I'm waiting for a Summit White LT turbo hatch with Jet Black / Dark Titanium interior and the Connectivity Plus Cruise package.

Based on watching the official Sonic Facebook page, it sounds like the constraint (for whatever strange reason) on the turbo may only apply to the LTZ trim, and not the LT. I'm hoping that's true, and that I can make up some time in the ordering process.

Still waiting to see a status change for *any* order...

LTZ 1.4L Turbo: Constraint until Halloween

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for those who have ordered a Sonic LTZ with the 1.4L Turbo, there's a constraint on it until October 31.

Why? I have no idea. Some engineering snafu. But this has been going on for a while (I've had mine on order since May 27th!). I hope this date doesn't get pushed back again (this is the third time).

I ordered mine about 4 weeks or so ago. Just came in today. Just one problem tho, I ordered the sedan and they built a hatch. Dealer said it was the factory's fault, now they're scramblin to find a replacement. Hope this isn't a sign of my future bad luck with chevy (my first).

Wow, thats not good. Lets hope they can find a replacement for you quickly.

Double check your order with the dealer. Have them show/give you the print out. When I ordered mine, the fog light and 16" wheel package was not available with the 1.4T.

Same here... Kinda bummed I cant get the 16's and the brick interior under an orange 1.4 in LT

It's actually alright with me. I'd rather get my own wheels for summer use and keep the stockers for winter.

I think a bronze wheel would look awesome on an inferno orange car! Can someone photoshop that?

Just ordered mine about an hour or so ago! 1LT Hatch, 1.4T, Inferno Orange w/ connectivity + cruise. Was told 4-6 weeks. Hopefully it will come sooner... My truck does not like cold weather and the 12-16 mpg is starting to kill me now that I'm driving a lot everyday

Finally, an order status change -- 3100, woohoo!

Order #1 was placed September 3rd -- Victory Red LTZ 1.4L Turbo Hatchback with sunroof. As of the end of the month, order had never changed. Cancelled in favor of Order #2.

Order #2 was placed September 28th -- Summit White LT 1.4L Turbo Hatchback with Connectivity+Cruise package. History is currently as follows:

09/28/2011 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.

10/04/2011 (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.

10/04/2011 (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.

10/04/2011 (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.

10/04/2011 (3100) Order available to sequence.

As we see, LT 1.4 orders have been and are now going through. The LTZ turbo orders are the ones on hold.

I am now pausing to reevaluate. If the wait is until X-MAS I know I won't be driving a Sonic.

Unfortunately, at ChevroletConnects.com the constraint on the LTZ 1.4L Turbo is yet again pushed back.

This time to November 7, 2011… will this be the last? I wouldn't bet on it.

I am in Afghanistan. I just purchased the wife a 2012 LTZ Equinox loaded. In my search for her car, I came across the Sonic. I already have an EVO and a Loaded Suburban so I decided I need a DD.

So I put an "Order" - more like a GTFUp and find me my car "Demand"
