Almost Autocross Season!

Today I installed a ZZPerformance rear sway bar. Also, the ECO wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sports with 10 autocross events on them from last year. I'm going to drive in H-Street this year. All suggestions for Street-legal modifications are welcome. First event in NW Indiana is April 11th.

1. Coilovers would be nice, but they are too rich for my blood. :sadbanana:

2. Trifecta would be nice, but it's not legal.

BTW, I am planning to go to nationals in Lincoln in September. The BWM Mini(atures) took all the trophies in H-Street last year.

I wanna get into it this year. Is a snell helmet required or just dot? I have a smell but it's falling apart and won't pass a visual inspection if anyone looks at it.

4.3 DRIVER’S SAFETY EQUIPMENT
4.3.1 Helmets
Helmets meeting the following standards must be worn while on course:
All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation
standards (SA2015, SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2015,
M2010, M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98), SFI standards 31.1, 41.1,
31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.
Formula Junior drivers must use helmets meeting the above, SFI 24.1
(Youth Helmets), Snell CMR2007 (Children’s Motorsports Restricted), or
Snell CMS2007 (Children’s Motorsports Standard) specifications. Also,
Formula Junior helmets must be of closed face design incorporating full
face shields and chin bars.
For maximum protection, helmets must fit securely and should provide
adequate peripheral vision. The chin strap must be securely fastened.
Loaner helmets should be available to vehicle occupants not having their
own.

There is no autocross near me either. I have to drive 3 hours to Orlando all the scca races within 1-1.5 hours are at tracks and cost $300+ to race. Rally cross is also 3+ hours away.

Verona VA autocross this weekend if anyone is close enough

If anyone wants more info just let me know, would love to have another sonic out there with me. Racing in SMF this year i think the competition is gonna be heated up. Focus ST in my class with alot of mods.

The Cruze ECO wheels are 1/2" wider than the stock Sonic LTZ 17" wheels. If you run them at Nationals, you will get protested.

It happens. Walk the course a few times before running and you should be alright.

I think the understeer on that course was due to the surface a little as well. My car was pushing a lot for my co driver and I. Im not going to remind him about stability next time he comes out for an event either.

Ya it was not as good of a surface as one would like.

Hoping this year to make it out to a airport event.

The Cruze ECO wheels are 1/2" wider than the stock Sonic LTZ 17" wheels. If you run them at Nationals, you will get protested.

Are you sure? I measured them through the spokes and found no difference between the two. Sonic community unite against the Mini(atures) and their dam port installed options! I believe they (the ECO and Sonic RS wheels) are exactly the same (width).

LTZ is 17x6.5 and Eco is 17x7. The measurement can really only accurately be done with the tire removed from the wheel. As far as I know the RS wheel is also a 17x6.5.
