Astonishing offer from a nearby Chevy dealer

I just got an offer in the mail, it seems too good to be true.

Says here my timely automobile payment history qualifies me to obtain new financing thru ChevyAutoFinancing.com which will (I am paraphrasing here) let me buy a new 2015 for below my current monthly payments.

Since I paid off the loan months ago, this would only be possible if THEY PAY ME.

It's called get you into the dealer to buy a new car and even tack the remainder of your current loan onto the new one.

We get mail all the time claiming dealers even have someone that wants to buy my Sonic, because, it's so special you know?

If you ever plan on going to a dealer that sends out such things plan on leaving bent over and walking funny. You'll be lucky if they go in dry as most use water and boraxo.

Luckily, our real dealer doesn't pull such B.S.

I just got something similar in the mail:

"up to $30,500 trade in for your 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD"

1. I traded in that vehicle for my Sonic nearly two years ago

2. The offer was from the dealership I traded in the truck to.

The usual bait and switch. Get your foot into the door and they'll come up with a bunch of excuses as to why it ain't such a great deal after all.

I get those flyers all the time as well.

I visited a Chevy dealer in Jersey and ended up buying one in PA, yet somehow find a letter from the Jersey dealer congratulating me on purchasing my New Certified CAR!! Except the car isn't certified. And I didn't buy it from them. Then a postcard from GM looking more official a week later, but with the VIN of the unpurchased Jersey car. I'm thinking they're just trolling or trying to lure me into a trap! (not really. Just kinda weird.)

It's funny, this letter only de-motivated me to sell. Once I saw how much it's value had depreciated, it only showed me that my Sonic is now worth more to me as a car than a dollar-value.
