Ok, well mine has the 6 speakers, I was thinking about replacing them with some better ones. Recommend any that fit well? Would I need an amp to power them as well? Would this void any part of the warranty besides the speakers? Sorry for all the questions...

Lol no big at all. As long as anything with the audio system is professionally installed, it wont void your warrenty.
As for fitment, any 6 1/2 inch speakers will do nicely. We put some sonys in the car I just did. Turned out pretty nice. It really comes down to how much you want to spend.
As far as an amp is concerned, it really depends on the speakers you buy and how loud you want to listen to it. An amp will give you the power you need to run the speakers louder than the factory without them distorting. If you dont listen to it loud, then you dont need an amp. No sence in spending all that money if you dont need it.

I added a rockford/fosgate amp and it sounded so awesome I thought I'd buy better speakers. I actually needed speakers that would handle more power, but when I bought and installed them, they weren't nearly as loud as the stockers. I also kind of like the sound of the the stock speakers better than the newer ones I bought. The newer ones are crisper and clearer but because they needed more power to drive, they didn't deliver the punch of the stock speakers living at the ragged edge. If your NOT going to add an amp, I would recommend finding speakers that are as efficient as the stockers or your stereo may not be as loud.

I started at the bottom left side with a flat head screw driver and popped up that corner. After that, I slow moved my fingers up the side to pop them up, no issues.

Yes Onstar was completely retained as were all the chimes.

cleanest i've seen so far! skimmed quick, did you keep away to change vehicle settings and such? I'm sure all is accesbile if need be via scan tool and really most of them are "set it and forget it" anyway.
